We have one for Emergencies and one for just normal things like a robbery or something but Emergency is like a fire or break in or hospital related

So for Emergencies its 000

And non-emergencies its 131444

Hmm. In the US, if you have a non-emergency, you just simply ring whatever the "regular" number of your local police office is... I don't think there's a "universal" non-emergency number.

Heh, I was watching a movie the other day, and there were murders in the girl's apartment.  She calls 911 and some lame voicemail comes on "Please hold for the next available agent."    Of course, the guy comes up to her and starts choking her.  

I hope that's just Hollywood and doesn't happen often in real life.  Imagine being in an emergency and hearing "Your call us important to us.  There are TWENTY-THREE people waiting ahead of you."

Something similar happend here, not long ago. A woman called for help(someone was breaking into her house), and the woman answering didn't believe her. I think(hope) she lost her job.
