Oooh! "Snafu" is one of my favorites! For some reason, it reminds me of the Snuffleuffigus (sp?) from Sesame Street!

LOL is overdone and overplayed, just seems more annoying than creative now.

LMAO seems...somehow vulgar.

FUBAR and SNAFU somehow seem less vulgar than LMAO (I know, I'm weird...maybe because they are actual military terms).

SNAFU was originally used as a military status term, it means SITUATION NORMAL (ALL F***ED UP)

Like I said, they are more vulgar, they just seem somehow less so to me. Easier to distance the acronym from the meaning I guess.
