Why does everyone hate MoE and Conner so muc?

No just wishful thinking. In the remake of KQ2 it explains that he had a knighthood by King Graham, and at the of MoE Connor just holds up his sword and it shows the mask of Eternity, He also defeats the badie who broke the mask, Lucreto.  (sorry to all the people who wanted him to die, Would have been a great storyline  )

Time to hear something nice about that matter.  I love KQ8 (don't get mad at me for that) as a seperate entity as well as a member of the King's Quest series.  I agree with all points as to why it should not have been a member of the King's Quest series.  And I also agree that the ending was kind of blah leaving us with not so much as a continuation or aftermath.  There's a lot that can be speculated.

But even though Connor was not an official member of the roal family, don't forget that good ol' Graham started off as just a knight.  Not an ounce of royalty in him.  Who knows what he's gonna choose to do with Connor if he has no official heir himself.  We don't know what the original plans were for the game.  So yes, it did need more to it than what we were left with.  But the open ending can easily have been modified to match what has occured in Daventry's history.

By the way, I just started on these forums for this site.  Does anyone know if they're going to at least MENTION Connor in the new game?

I love MoE (don't get mad at me for that) as a seperate entity as well as a member of the King's Quest series. 

I have no problem (nor do I get mad) with people who like MOE as a game. What I do have a problem with (and can't wrap my mind around, really) is people who think it was a good idea to make such a game part of the King's Quest series
I know, some people like action games. They like fighting and bashing and collecting power-ups and weapons. There are even some adventure gamers who like having those things added their adventure games.
I'm not one of those people, sorry. I don't like action games, nor do I like having to fight my way through adventures. I regard the taking of King's Quest 8 out of the realm of pure adventure and tossing it into the black waters of the action/adventure genre a sin against the King's Quest fans everywhere. There are plenty of games out there for action/adventure gamers, but there is only one King's Quest series. And, especially in a time when fewer and fewer pure adventures are made, at least the series who began the entire graphic adventures genre should have been left untouched.

That's why I don't like people coming up to me saying "I liked MOE, I have no problem with it being a King's Quest". That's basically saying, "I don't mind you loosing your favorite aventure series to the already-flooded market of action games, 'cause I like bashing stuff between puzzles"

The problem isn't Connor not being royalty... it's him not being a part of the Royal Family. Since its very beginning, the KQ series featured and followed the Royal Family of Daventry. MOE pretty much completely ignored the existence of said royal family. One can understand how that would be disappointing to those who played the 7 previous installments and expected some continuity in this one

We don't take AGDI's remakes into account 'round these parts. As far as KQIX is concerned (according to 'The Four Winds' at least), Connor was made captain of the royal guard.
