I really can't wait for Silver Lining to come out.For now i've started playing all the old ones to get myself ready.....on a side note how do you download those pictures you have next to your names....I'm new to this...as if you couldn't tell...

You could also introduce yourself in the introduction thread in Haven.
It isn't a must but lots of greetings are given there to the newbies.

This was why I was so skeptical that it will be finished in 2006 and why I think it will take even longer than this year for Shadows to be released.

Any truth to these dates ---

Part 1 -- Shadows -- 2006
Part 2 -- The two that are one -- 2007
Part 3 -- Eternities -- 2008

As you may recall, during the anniversary chat we announced that we aimed to release Shadows in Winter 2005/6, and then hopefully Two That Are One a year later, and Eternities a year after that. Obviously our negotiations with Vivendi got in the way of maintaining our production schedule. At the moment, we can only say that we aim to release Shadows at some point in 2006. The final decision is no longer solely ours. You could speculate that the writer of the Wikipedia article is basing the 2007 and 2008 dates on our original, pre-C&D announcement. I honestly am not privy to any information on release dates beyond what has been publicly announced.
Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes...

Is great in seeing that VU grant license to continue!

Is VU still prevent you releasing first one?

Yes, they might have been nice to you and all that. Make sure they don't get overboard.

Normally a lisence should mean go ahead with it.

Thank you for posting link.

Why were you skeptical and why do you thing it might take longer for shadows to release?

I fail to see your reasons.

Everyone is entitled to asume whatever they believe it's most convenient, even if he would fully explain his own reasons you might still believe different as well. Everyone's got an opinion of their own.

I must admit that VU's situation has kept us behind schedule, but even so, whatever that has happened has been for the best. Now we're legal and we've got communication with VU. Regardless of the inconvenients and bad moments, I think things will look up better soon enough :).

As Tribe previously mentioned, it's not our doing alone anymore. It's great to be given legal permission to continue, yet as splat said we had to be careful through the negotiations (which are still somehow in the go, not finished) and obviously this is something that happen inside the team just among the directors of POS.

We're not legally entitled to comment details to the media or the fans, obvious reasons, we just gotta keep details and such private. But yes, there's a lot of in betweens we gotta take care in order to guarantee Shadows will see the day of light as well as doing it properly.

And yes, I wish 'giving a license' would be as easy as just them telling us to "go ahead!". Far from it, in real life. I hope that answered your question :)

I really hope Shadows is released in 2006 but I think it will take longer because of the dealings with VU.  In addition, the folks working on this have full time jobs or school so I think it will take longer.

Well POS said it would be out in 2006 AFTER the dealings with VU started...so it should come out this year.

Do you guys have any idea about when negotiations will wrap up, or is that also confidential? :P
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

Regardless of the negotiations we're still working on the game production, obviously it'd be best if we had time just to dedicate to production instead of spending it with lawyers and such. Also remember that the game being completed does not mean it will be launched right away, VU might need to evaluate it and all before it comes out.

I'm trying to keep you updated as much as I can, also understand that there are also some questions which we might not have an answer for just yet.

hi all!. This is my first post on the forums, however I have been following your progress for quite some time. i must say being a king's quest fan since i was probably 10, i am extremely impressed with all the screenshots, and the trailer i have seen.I was quite depressed when I found out the Vu decided to close down the project, and extremely happy to see the movement of fans which led to the fan license. I had been unfortunately having computer problems, and was unable to post my gratitude to you guys. Im very happy that you decided to give closure to a game that i'm sure many of us loved as children. so , i must bow down and worship you guys, as you have me extremely impressed. So with my final words of my first post, i thank you, and eagerly wait for the coming of The Silver Lining's first chapter.

Hi Japster, welcome to the forums. I think Shadows will probably come out at the end of this year. I can see the team has been working hard, they deserve praise for that. I hope the negotiations with VU goes smoothly. Thanks for the info, Say.
