I don't get it.  Things like this aren't supposed to happen.  All logic says we are supposed to be dead.

Yay :) I am very happy this game will be created... I hope to see a demo or something soon :)

Ummm I don't know if this is right or not but before silverlininggame.com was linked to this I seem to remember it saying The Silver Lining The Official Sequel To The King's Quest Series. Was this correct? Just wondering.

Yes, indeed (you're not going crazy just yet!)

Apparently we have a group of fans organizing something now, they purchased that domain and they were going to create a fan-website. Although, they were kind and humble to provide that url to us in order to get something much more appropiated to their fan group :)

Regardless, they have POS blessing to do such :)

so does that mean that it's going to marketed if it's official and if vivendi thinks it's official?

Haha, I've got no idea how you connect the url to that matter. Anyhow, what is going to be marketed? TSL? So far we've applied marketing techniques to get along with promotions, organization and whatnot without getting a cent back. Now comercial would be to get something back, and IF that happens or not is not up to us anymore, it is indeed Vivendi's call.

So far, all we want is to get TSL out. And yes, it's going to be freeware as far as we all are aware.

Well VU is not 'choosing' anything per se, the situation is that, whatever happen to TSL is not just out call anymore. And yes, Shadows will be free. :)

I want to know something. ???

If the Black Cloak were never mencioned in KQ5 & KQ6, (www.sierraplanet.com/curiosities/kingsquest/wizards.html) would KQ9 still be made. ???

I mean, what other Questions did the KQ Games not answer for KQ9 to be made. ???

awesomeasapossum

I think the main reason for TSL is the fact that so many people were disappointed with MoE not so much the unanswered questions. But putting MoE and all the unanswered questions and about 4 years without anything happening with the series is what made TSL happen.

Hey, I know this is completley OT but I was wondering is there any way I can help the KQIX team at all?? I cant program/make games or anything like that, but is there even the smallest job i could do to help speed up production and make it easier for the team?

The Hero6 community said that they need people to animate Sprites for them and anyone can do that, Would I be able to do the same thing here??

What is there that the team needs so I can help them?

Hi friendoftheking

If you want to help out, please go to the join page (http://www.tsl-game.com/join/positions/), and browse through the applications of your choice. Select one, and (depending on your experience/quality of artwork) you will be invited to have an interview.

Thanks

Will it be in consoles (PS3, XBOX, NGC...) too?
I want to go where no game has gone before!

Ceres

I haven't visited here in a while, so I just heard the good news.

Congratulations! This is so awesome! I wait anxiously for the release of part one!

I will also send a thank you letter to Vivendi once I'm at my own computer.

I highly doubt it since PS2, NGC, and Xbox development kits are probably still rather expensive right now - and I think the team is more focused primarily on getting the PC version done. Though, that doesn't mean that a small contingent of POS fans won't eventually port the title to certain consoles sometime in the future.

I think a Dreamcast version would be increadibly cool. There's plenty of documentation on Dreamcast programming, the WinCE optional development library should make PC to DC ports a snap, and the system only costs about $40 now - which is cool considering it's currently the only console which supports native VGA out and it already has a backlog of some pretty highly reguarded (though a bit old) games. Keyboards and Mice should be easy to come by as well - since Sega really pushed the Internet portal functionality.

Plus, due to a little "glitch" Sega left in it - you wouldn't need to mod the console or infringe on Sega's IP by including their boot sequence. Oh.. and there's already an opensource AGI as well as an SCI interpreter - so you can play most of your original King's Quest games on it as well.

It may also be possible to run it on a properly modded Xbox - but that's all I have to say on that subject.
