anyway, ...
errrmmm... how does the game react if you don't have a mouse at all?  ;D ;D will it switch to 'keyboard mode'  :P ;D
I don't even think Windows will let you boot up without a mouse connected. ;P And no, there is no keyboard mode.  Parsing text is a lot more complicated than you'd think.  8)

LOL,

windows will boot, sure about that... although it won't without keyboard...
So that really proves us that the keyboard IS essential, whilst the mouse isn't!!!
:D

okay I stop, I'm just kidding....

I know parsing text is a pain in the @ss.... (not as much as defining the mouse-click areas & pixels on the screen...!  ::) OKAY I said I stop  ;D  )

nice meeting you though.
I'll follow that new KQ for sure, haven't played those kind of games for years.. maybe it'll be worth playing... just need to find out when it'll be out... (haven't read the whole site yet tbh  ;)  so i dunno)

No definate date on TSL yet but the team hopes to have it ready for release by the end of the year.  I am still thinking 2007 or later.  We can be assured that it will be released when TSL is ready.   ;D

Guys,

have you played the KQ1 & 2 & 3 & 4 series?

Honeslty don't you find those are the best ones? The ones where you don't use the mouse at all...
I've always been a huge fan of those games, the keyboard ones, (PQ/SQ/KQ/Larry), but I haven't done any of the mouse-click ones.

Not the same feeling at all.

Anybody else agrees? or has the same feeling...

I think they should do it the old way again, I'm sure lot of people would appreciate.

anyway, just my 2 cents
I'm sure that most of us here have played at least one of those.

I agree and I would not be surprised if most of us have played KQ 1-4 more than once and have also played the remake of KQ1 by AGD and the new storyline done by AGD for KQ2.

WOW ..we're already talking about waiting ANOTHER year for this game?  C'mon guys you've been stringing us along for years now... Are you sure you don't want us to pay for the game?  Really, I don't mind and Im sure everyone else would be more than happy to reward your hard work.

Maybe you guys should just set a release date set sometime next century to be released in the national computer museum.   All I can say is thank god for The Adventure Company.

Deloria

Look. The team wanted to release early this year, unfortunately, that wasn't possible. What they need now is moral support, not someone complaining because the game isn't finished. The game is basically "secondary", first comes the team, who are currently still negotioating with VU.

Who said I'm complaining? I'll wait as long as you guys need. No matter how long it is, you won't once hear me complain, and if you do, you can delete my entire account online. And then I'd start up again... But anyway, my philosophy is that the longer the wait, the better the game! So if we had to wait until 2010, I'd know that we'd be getting a very well made game! So don't worry about me! And I know that you weren't talking about me in the first place. I'm merely stating a personal opinion!

I agree that the longer it takes to make the game, the better quality the game will be. I would wait twenty years for a good quality king's quest nine.  ;D

Yonkey

Don't worry, it certainly won't take us that long. ;P

I wonder if postings in this forum will go way down when TSL is released since lots of people will be working on the game.  I also wonder if there will be many people begging for hints and if suffer smileys will be the response to these inquiries as well.

True. I would wait eternities for it if I had to! (What is it with me and the word Eternity?)

If anything, I see this place filling up with tons of people begging for spoilers worse than you guys are right now! :P So yes, there'll be Suffers-a-plenty! :suffer:

Well said. 8)

I REALLY don't want spoilers. I think it ruins the game. I had an experience with that before. (Although it was with a walkthrough.) I originally played KQVI (the short way) with a walkthrough. It was WAY not as satisfying as when I (on my own) beat KQVI the long way.

I agree, and that's actually the number one reason why we don't reveal spoilers about the game.  8)

Rosella

I used a walkthrough for a lot of games, and I totally regret it now. I think the only real way to get plot points is to get them in their entirety, in the game. :P It's not like my ENTIRE life hangs on the game, so I will wait as long as POS needs, and not complain. I'm just really grateful that someone's actually making it! ;D

Walkthroughs!!!
What am I hearing here, SHAME SHAME SHAME people
:suffer: ;D

definitely, you can't enjoy such game if you use walkthroughs.
You're already lazy enough to point & click and not type, and still you'd use walkthroughs ??? ;D :P

I'm ready to wait 12.4 years if the keyboard mode comes in.... it can even be an extra for which you pay for when you go buy the game in the shop, i'd pay for it. (I may even be ready to parse the sentences & keywords for you  ;) if you have no resources for that)

well, good luck to you, I think I'll now hybernate for the rest of the year and hopefully I'll wake up with a DVD Box of KQIX under my pillow.

cheers, Princes & Princesses  :gossip:

Moodyblues

Rosella and Lance, you're absolutely right.  I played King's Quest 6 from start to finish using a walkthrough because I was really afraid of death scenes.  I really regret it now because, even today, I remember all the solutions.  :(  Nowadays, I only use a walkthrough if, after a long time of trial and error, I can't find a logical solution to a puzzle.
