Actually, we've been working on the game ever since Vivendi said we could continue; which was more or less when this thread started. :P

That great the production is still in progress!
Good luck with it.

I've reading or seeing lots of post on TSL!
What is it exactly?

Perhaps by including link to that website might clarify a bit.

ok this is not fair, we've been waiting a while, we need a release date, the residents are getting restless, give us a release date, an approximation, another trailer, a nice In game Video, something, you need to keep us teased and wanting more, please just give us something, i need life support from waiting.

Louisiana Night

Assuming you haven't seen it already... Computer Gaming World.

and getting a release date won't cause it to be released any sooner(or have you waiting any less), so just calm down(and keep in mind you are getting "something for nothing" ;) ). :P

We at Phoenix Online Studios most certainly sympathize with our fan community, especially after the heartening show of support we received when the future of the project was uncertain. However, we must weigh the community's desire for futher information against our objective of releasing the first part of the game in a timely manner and up to a very high standard of quality. Rest assured that there will be updates coming, but we feel that we owe it to you to not divert valuable resources away from the production of the game in order to expedite these updates. After all, the game is surely what you really want, and the updates are merely a pleasant distraction. Trust me, we all want to play this game as badly as you do.

I think the only solution is to get focused on other pursuits and interests.  You can check back sometimes at this website but do not get your hopes up that it will be released soon.  The team is working hard and they deserve our encouragement and respect.  Basically, it will be done when it is ready and not before.  ;)

We were raised on Kings Quest... its good to see it around back. Good ole Graham and his adventures. Can't Wait to play again. We are super excited over here!

Oh DRAT, if things got any better i could die a happy man.

Yay!

Well this is my thoughts on the release date. Before production was stopped the aim was the winter season 2005 (Which i would assume ran thru march). So id say if production hadnt been stopped the game would have just been released, for topic sake we'll say March 30th would have been the release date. So add two months, and probably another month for VU to approve stuff and then adjustments. So my thoughts are we will see TSL sometime in July. If its a lot sooner than that and im dead wrong, it will be one of the few times im exstatic about being wrong.

It's so cool that this project isn't dead  ;D

Hey I am happy as anyone else that king's quest is still alive and well.  It was my first computer game way back in the days of KQIII (back when color screens hadn't really been invented yet, well not in my household anyway, ahhh the days of black and green....)  Well all I have to say is that KQ rocks and is the best series bar none for creativity and replayability (except on XP which hates all old computer games, dang you microsoft!!!).  But I have managed to be able to get most of the game to work on dosbox, except vii. I don't get it.  Well anyway, the point of this rant is that I love this sight and will be on it daily, awaiting for the grand day of the release.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Best

Are you aware of the freeware program DOSBox, which emulates DOS in Windows XP?

If you download DOSBox, I'd also recommend you download D-Fend, a front-end program that makes DOSBox much easier to use.

Or you can do what I have done which is dual-boot my PC with Windows Me and Windows XP.

Of course patiences will provide KQIX and the classics by VUG for Windows XP

I did the same thing, though I really only use Me for Sierra adventures where I prefer the Windows version to the DOS version (ie KQVI) or for Windows 95/98 games I can't get to work in XP (ie the "You Don't Know JACK" series)

If you're not already aware of it, you might like this thread discussing the new compilations.

Tribe,

Thanks for editing and making my previous link smaller and for the link to discuss the VUG's compilation release.

I recently read the Gamespy interview concerning The Silver Lining and am excited to play the game as it's quality has been repeatedly boasted about.

I also love the writers and developers for including the Land of the Green Isles as a focus of the game. Most would agree that KQVI is the appex of the series and the strengths of the game should be revisited.

Also, have you checked out some of the gamefaqs.com reviews of the previous King Quest's titles? I know it is late in development but many of the reviews contain insight on the weaknesses of previous King's Quest games? Just thought I would make a suggestion.

sure, they're actually looking for people willing to parse the texts for the keyboard mode of KQIX.

No we're not. :P

But, that reminds me.  If you'd really like to help out, have a look at the available positions and apply for what you feel most qualified for. :)

How long does it normally take to fill a position? I ask because they seem to be the same positions I viewed six months prior.

It depends, because sometimes we're in desperate need of certain positions, and other times we aren't.  When you apply, your application is kept on file until needed.

Yonkey,

Would it be acceptable for me to post the positions link on other websites? There are other KQ fans out there who have probably never heard of this site.

Is there an age requirement for the posistions? (I checked them out, and there a few I might like/be good at, but need to know an age limit on them) It's unlikely I'd get chosen for anything though, as the only HTML I know is scarce. (I am improving upon that, though!)
