The 8 year old grandaughter of a friend was recently given an old laptop. I was happy to install KQ VI and VII on it for her to enjoy. Now she'll have another great game to look forward to in the future. The King's Quest series is one of a kind!

Did you remember to include the copy protection for KQVI?

There was copy protection for KQVI?

It was cleverly disguised as the Cliffs of Logic. Funny thing is, only the first and last ones seem logical at all. :P

Also, there's the map of the catacombs (to avoid the rooms without floors)

But you can avoid that by saving in every room and mapping it. My family actually did that the first time we played it.

I mapped it out in my head XD

Unfortunately I remembered it all except for the room with the tapestry, I can never find it XD

I was always wondering what was up with the death message in the catacombs... "Don't just wander,  Alexander! let your conscience be your guide!"

Yeah, actually I did the same thing. I just played KQVI not too long ago and I remembered exactly where everything was. I guess I have pretty good memory mapping skills  ;D

In KQ VI I remember you indeed needed the manual for the Cliffs of Logic but I do not remember any map to the catacombs.  I remember explainations about the catacombs and an explanation to get you across the room with skulls, roses and scythes but no detailed map of both levels.  KQ VI was a really good King's Quest game!

If Roberta had just stuck to the KQ VI formula 7 and 8 would be alot better off.(In my mind at least.)
I think 7 should have been a better version of 6, not the
disney ripoff that it was. 8 should have been like this fangame.

On one of the pages, at the top, there is a map of the catacombs. IIRC, the rooms you would die in are darker.

Matter of opinion I suppose, but I always considered 4 and 7 to be the best.
