What about All your base are belong to us??
I don't think the poor grammar in that game was deliberate. :P

I have to agree with Deloria on this. :P My French class was learning the subjunctive and had to translate to English. Everyone was like "It is important that he does the laundry" and it made me cringe every time. :P

Yeah, I think it's a bad Japanese translation.

The future subjunctive is composed by using were + infinitive.

"If I were to go....then I would/could..."

So it's fairly basic if you can do the others. :P

Lesson II:

Personal pronouns

I: Nominative. Used as a subject. Please no "They saw him and I." That's simply ridiculous. :P The correct pronoun in that sentence should be "me". "To be" requires nominative  (I), but all other verbs require the oblique case.

ME: Oblique. Used as an object.

MYSELF: Myself is reflexive. If you used "I" earlier in the sentence, it would be acceptable to use "myself". Otherwise never. :P The paper was not signed by her and myself, but by her and me. :P

I hope this is somewhat helpful. :)

The "myself" thing is something even people I respect do, and it makes me sad. :P

The object of a preposition is always the oblique. You cannot say "It caused a rift between he and I." "Between" is a preposition, therefore you would say "between him and me."

The proper way to say that the person on the phone is indeed speaking to the person they requested is "This is she," because "is" requires the nominative case, like Deloria said. :P

Never use "myself" to sound important. :P Typically, you would need to put "me" where you'd put "myself," but I've heard of some very grating examples where "Myself and Donna will be answering any questions."

EDIT: Also, lolspeak is entirely acceptable because it is adorable.

I once heard that temporal prepositions can require the nominative case, but haven't found this anywhere else. :-\

The worst is when thay say "Come talk to myself".

I can talk to myself, and you can talk to yourself, but I can't talk to yourself!
