Welcome all sprite artists. This post is for you.
Post your sprite art here. I prefer original sprite creations, but if you have a really good mod of Mario,Zelda,Ect. By all means post it too.

Nice work guys.

A sprite is:
<graphics, file format> A small bitmap image, often used in
animated games but also sometimes used as a synonym for
icon.(I use it to mean a bitmap image from a 2d game though.)

I Wanna see more.Do you know anybody who sprites on this
forum? If so invite them to showcase their art.Â

Mo stuff: A new one I did yesterday inspired by my sister's
drawing his name is Jener. Isn't he cool, He is a nice
charactor my sis has in one of her novels...

Here's a charator I did for a little game I'm making. It doesn't look to good as I had to convert it from .bmp to .jpg

Strider, What Program do you use to convert the bmps?
Some Programs work better then others. JPG take up less space but it's better to convert to GIF for BMPs. I use Animagic32 to convert mine or Photoshop...

I was in a hurry so I used MS Paint. For my better work I use Fireworks MX. I am currently redoing my backgrounds for my, as shown below. I may or may not get to redoing my sprites, as I am not that good at it yet, so it takes me a long time to draw anything on the computer.

Interesting style, It reminds me of watercolor paintings. Never heard of that program. Sounds like it might be worth looking into. If you don't mind my asking what is your game about?

To be honest, it lacks direction.

It started out as a QBASIC program I made called Hedgeman. Basicly it was a stick man who went around with shears cutting hedges and picking up balls. Then he used the balls to make a floating bridge to get into his castle.

Then I decided to switch to AGS (for obvious reasons), but I couldn't come up with a plot, just a few charactors and screens.

Oh yes, Fireworks is made by Macromedia (which is now owned by Adobe), along with Flash, Dreamweaver, Director, etc.

It sounds like a lot of games I made up when I was a kid. Also I use Q-basic for the original version of my game Tom Sops: The Untamed Eye. You wouldn't want to teamup for it would you?
I love creative Ideas, and the people who imagine them. I'm sort of trying to start my own gaming group if your interested PM me...

I animated this a while back. I really need to get back into spriting.

BTW, I use Jasc animation shop 3. Its a good program for making animated .gifs, if anyones interested. I just got photoshop cs2, which is another good one for animating things. I think that Jasc gives you a little more control when it comes to timing, but photoshop is good for just about anything.
