i'm buying the $600 ps3.  i know that it costs a lot more than any other next gen system.  but it will be better.  sony couldve just been a whole lot smarter and just made one system for $600.  the $500 wont be as good.  the only reason that you would buy the $500 version is if you dont have enough money.

You know, some people might want to play the games that will be on the PS3, but won't be able to due to the price. If you ask me, that gives them every right to complain.

I bought a Xbox 360 Premium on ebay last christmas for $800! And I have to say it's worth every penny, now they're finally in stock at your local best buy store! The games you play on it are great plus you can play them in HD and Dolby 5.1 Surround sound, on the Internet for multiplayer, and talk with your friends, and watch DVDs! For $399.99 [the current cost for a premium at a best buy store.] that to me is a bargan compared to the PS3 witch will cost at a minimum $500 [$600 if you want all the features.]. And Nintendo Wii, I just don't like the controller design, It looks strange.

You do understand that is just the first person interactive controller right? Its kind of a virtual reality thing to give you the feeling of having a gun in the hand, or a sword, or whatever.

There is actually a more traditional controller for rpg and other style games. The wand just slips into the regular controller.

Plus they are even designing  a zapper attachment that the wand can stick into to give you more gun shaped controller.

So the controller is completely modular and you build it up the way you want depending on the type of game you are playing.

Additionally they have another controller option that is more like an snes controller for use with their wii download games.

Now perhaps your average consumer isn't going to want to buy 3-4 add-ons for their system....

Of course with Xbox and 360 you have to buy the DVD remote if you want an easier way of controlling dvds :p...

I know what you mean.  That's why I'm going to upgrade to the 360 (probably for Xmas or something like that).  I originally wanted to get the PS3, but I'm not so sure I want to, now.

I dont see anything wrong with this tbh. It simply shows that in the future this kind of control method will most likely be incorporated with all future consoles. Plus you have to remember, Wii ships with its innovative controler whereas with these devices the consumer has to buy them AS WELL as a game, so its not going to have amazing support from developers.

I bet nintendo are feeling pretty smug right now as after all, immitation is the best form of flattery

the ps3 comes out on a friday.  and the stupid employees from eb games took em all, so no one could get one. <please insert random "very bad" words here to express my feelings about ebgames>.  but fridays are so much better than sundays

i have school but fridays mark the end of a week and the beginning of relaxation.  sundays mark the end of a weekend and it means that the next day is a monday.

Unless I'm incredibly lucky, I'll probably have to wait a while before getting mine.... I have to take the bus/train to get anywhere that would sell one, and by the time I got there they'd surely be sold out.

That's okay though, I wasn't sure if I even wanted a Wii until about a week ago LOL.
