I like the sketches I've seen. The fiery bridge is 'hot.' The ranger looks really cool.

Full 3D like MoE or pre-rendered?

The game itself uses a 3d engine to generate the screen but the camera is locked down (it doesn't move or moves in a pre defined way) so we can put the detail where we need it and thus can fake the 2d painted look using 3d. Why? Because this allows us to animate the background elements and make it seem more "alive".

Well the fact that the camera doesn't move like a normal 3d camera DOES allow for a different look. In a normal 3D game the 3d world has to look "good" from every angle because you never know from which angle the player will be looking at a scene. Having the camera in a stationary position or in preanimated movements allows us to know exactly how the player will see the scene and thus concentrate the details there instead of everywhere. Its basically managing your resources.

oh yeah this sketch of the week is really a nice idea, i didnt know about this till i saw it on the website so it took me as a surprise as it did with everyone around, but Im kinda glad youll get to see now more artist around here, I mean this images you see are conceptual and things we're actually working on, unlike gallery that, thats almost all conceptual like, this sketches of the week are a bit more true of the -now- work

I've seen the new sketch-of-the-week (the one with the costume designes) and it looks cool but also very sexy - it reminds me of a S&M queen - just add the whip and you're good to go
