Read my pathetically titled, short, innacurate prologue to KQVI! It's for English, so I had to fit some criteria and change things. XD I made Cassima come back before her parents died so that they would know that there was hope, and therefore, an ending. :P I also had to make Shamir the one who killed Allaria and Caliphim instead of Alhazred himself, because I needed to fit a rich lady opening a purse into it somehow. ::) Well, here goes nothing. :P

The rich woman opened her purse with surprise. A snake with gleaming golden eyes stared back at her with malice. Queen Allaria Verterre pulled back, but the lightning fast snake lunged forward, piercing her skin with his poisonous fangs. Allaria knew her life was ending, and she tried to warn her husband, Caliphim. “A snake! In the castle! Ge--” Her eyes glazed over. Caliphim rushed into the room, alarmed by the tone of his wife and not receiving her full warning. “By Samhain…” Caliphim gasped. He stared awestruck at the body of his wife. “Guards! Guards!” he exclaimed. “We have a murderer!” Caliphim felt a sharp pain in his ankle and just managed to see a snake slithering away. The snake looked back and the glint in his eyes caught the eyes of the king. “Shamir…Alhazred…” He was dead before he hit the floor.
As Caliphim’s soul traveled to the Realm of the Dead, he thought about what happened. Abdul Alhazred was his most trusted advisor. How could it have been his genie, in snake form, that murdered Caliphim and his wife, unless Alhazred had commanded it? There was no way anyone else could’ve gotten the lamp. The king himself didn’t even know where it was kept. What could Alhazred have gained? The kingdom would still belong to the royal family. It would just be passed on to…Cassima… Caliphim had no body, but he felt his heart ache with worry. Cassima, his one and only daughter, was the next one in danger. The kingdom would panic with the cruel assassination of the royal family, and Alhazred would easily be able to step up. He would portray himself as the hero and no one would ever discover his duplicity. “Cassima…I have failed you,” Caliphim whispered, as he hit the cold, Plutonian earth.
Allaria was wandering around the plain when she saw her husband descending from the heavens. Her heart broke to see him. Allaria’s first thoughts after her death were about her family. When Caliphim was alive, he could protect Cassima. Now that his life was taken too, there was no hope for their daughter or the kingdom. Unless…no. It wasn’t possible. The legend of the knight who entered the Realm of the Dead while still living was just that, a legend. But still…even though Allaria knew it wasn’t possible, the poem ran through her head.
Flesh may cross the portal,
And seek its master Death.
Flesh may go where Death has trod,
And challenge, like Scheherazade,
He Who Reigns Beneath the Sod
To spare a mortal’s breath.

Maybe…just maybe there was hope. Cassima had told her parents of a prince from a far off land. D…Da...De…Damontria? No, that was a kingdom off to the west. If that prince came to see Cassima, maybe he could rescue her. He could free the land from the traitorous advisor. There was hope. There was a hero…a hero…from the land of Daventry.

They basically wander around in circles for a long time. Have you ever just stood there in the Realm of the Dead until the dead people get you? Around and around and around... O.O

But thanks you guys! :)

Pretty good. :D I'm just glad they weren't stabbed in their beds, a snake makes it seem less violent. :P

Very good, you should write more...
Maybe do some prologues for some of the other games.  :)

It makes more sense than the game's explanation of their death. If they were stabbed to death in their beds, wouldn't there have been a big investigation of their murders, and how would Alhazared have escaped being implicated?  A snake happening to kill them seems much less suspicious. And another thing I've wondered is how Alhazared could've explained their death as a result of illness to the public when they were stabbed and bled to death?

I don't have the time to read it yet, but I'm sure it's excellent! I'll make a note to read it when I got home today. (I'm at school... Early in the morning...)

Good story! I always thought that it would make more since for Alhazarhed to poison Caliphim and Allaria instead of stabbing them. If he stabbed them, they would have obvious wounds, and there would be an investigation about their murder, and Ahazarhed would be suspect.
The snake makes more since, but how did the snake came to be in Allaria's purse? Alhazared must have ordered Shamir to sneak into her purse and kill her when she opened it.

I know what you mean, I remember seeing Caliphim and Allaria wandering around in circles in the land of the dead. How are they supose to avenge their deaths if they can't leave the underworld? Seems very unfair, it's not their fault they were murdered. I kept getting killed by the ghouls brushing up against me in the underworld in KQVI.
