I'm glad to see that you read my story. It was nice of you to "incorporate" it into your own story. It is a nice story, too. Classic KQ fan fiction.

On a fine spring day a year after her marriage, Valanice sat with Morena in her rose-covered bower in the royal gardens.

"Morena, I have something very important to tell you. i saw the doctor today, and he confirmed my suspicions. I am pregnant."

"That's wonderful! Has King Graham heard the news?" Morena replied.

"No, I haven't told him yet. You are the first to know. i will tell Graham after he comes home from his meeting with the farmers." Valanice and Morena giggled and talked the afternoon away.

Later that day, Valanice told Graham the joyful news. when they were alone together. Graham hugged her excitedly. "I'm so happy! Now we will have a  baby, and I will be a father!"

The kingdom was overjoyed with the news. There would be a prospective heir to the throne!

What power has chained me through and through?..."
Guess where that came from! All you KQies

A royal banquet was held in celebration of the unborn heir to Daventry. The castle cook preapred sumptuous delicacies, and the dining hall was decorated with colorful tapestries, banners and flowers. Almost everyone in the kingdom attended the royal banquet. Musicians played lively, beautiful music as the guests dined on the delicious meal.

King Graham made a speech. He said that he was pleased that the kingdom rejoiced with him. He promised his unborn son or daughter that he or she would have the best education. Morena smiled happily as she sat next to Valanice. Valanice deserved much happiness after her imprisonment by Hagatha.

The banquet lasted until midnight. The tired guests went home, and the lords and ladies of the castle retired to their private rooms.

During the next few months, valanice grew large with pregnancy. She suspected that she might be carrying twins, and the doctor agreed with her.  She discussed baby names with Graham.

"I think we should name the baby Edward, if it's a boy, after the former king of Daventry. We could always name him Graham after you." Valanice said while they sat in the garden together.

"I'd like to name the boy Alexander, and my grandfather." Graham said.

"Alexander is a fine name. That would be a good name for a young prince. If we have a girl, perhaps we could give her a flower name." Valanice said.

"Rose would be a good name for a girl." said Graham.

"Maybe something fancier. How about Rosalyn, or Rosetta? I know....Rosella!" Valanice exclaimed.

"It's perfect. I hope we have twins. it would be wonderful if we could have a boy and a girl at the same time." Grham took her hand as he spoke to her.

"I agree, that would be great. You've made me so happy, my love." Valanice spoke to him fondly.

"And you have made the perfect queen for my kingdom, and a wonderful wife." Grahma kissed her.

While Graham and Valanice were talking in the garden, Morena went to visit the woodcutter and his family.

Dr. Abraham discovered that the scratches on Morena's cheek were poisoned, Hagatha had poisoned fingernails. Luckily he had an antidote to the poison, and he gave it to her. Morena would have permanent scars on her face from the witch's claws.

She slept for most of the next day, and woke up and bathed the day after that. She was feeling much better by the time the tiwn's baptism came.

Father Seamus, a friend of Father Wilbury, came to Daventry to start a church there, and King graham welcomed him with opened arms. The twins were baptised in the castle's throne room since the church was not finnished.

Morena wore her best silk dress and fixed her hair nicely. She tried to cover the scars on her face with cosmetic powder, but they still showed.
She watched happily as the royal twins were christened Alexander and Rosella.

After the baptism, several people came up to her to congradulate her on her heroism in defeating Hagatha. Morena blushed, the people considered her a hero.

When the citizens left the castle, Graham and Valanice retired to their room with the babies. Morena went into the castle garden to be alone.

Your story is getting more and more interesting! I love it! It's not every day that I come across a fan fiction that seems to fit as neatly into the KQ series as yours. It's a beautiful story, and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Morena paused before a fountain with a statue of cupid in the center. She looked into the fountain's water and saw her reflection.

I am so ugly, she thought. This scar amkes me look worse, even though I was never pretty to begin with. What am I to do? I will never find a husband!

She was distracted by laughter coming from a corner of the garden. She followed the sound and found Sir Bernhardt sitting in a gazebo covered in rose vines with Lady Delphine. Bernhardt held Delphine's hand, and reached over and kissed her.

Delphine saw her after they finnished kissing.
"Oh Morena, come here! I have the most wonderful news. Sir Bernhardt has asked me to marry him!"

Morena looked at Bernhardt. Did he know how she felt about him? Obviously he did not, if he asked Lady Delphine to marry him.

"I have been in love with Delphine for some time now." he confessed. "She has accepted my proposal of marriage. We will be married as soon as the new church is finnished."

"Oh...." Morena stuttered. "Oh my...that's, that's great. You must be very happy. If you'll excsue me, I must go tell King Graham and Queen Valanice." Morena quickly turned away and left the garden. She did not want her friends to see her cry. What a fool she had been to be in love with Bernhardt, he could not possibly love someone like her. Lady Delphine was pretty, graceful, and ladylike, she would make the perfect wife.

Instead of going inside the castle, Morena exited the garden by the gate that lead to the countryside of Daventry. She ran into the woods.

Morena found a secluded spot were she could sit by the edge of  pond and cry her fill. She saw her image in the water, and angrily splashed at the pond's surface. When she was through, she washed her face in the pond and drink some of the water. Sighing, she stood up and walked deeper into the woods.

There was no use crying about it, Bernhardt was going to marry Delphine and there was nothing she could do to stop it. He had only thought of her as a friend and never as a lover.

Morena stopped beside an oak tree and leaned agaisnt the rough bark. She listened to the birds chirping in the tree's branches. Perhaps she had set her sights to high. Maybe she should look for a man with a noble heart who was just as ugly as she was. Or perhaps she should forget about getting married. She should instead concentrate on serving the king and queen and protecting the twins form harm. She would have some adventures, which was unusual for a woman, but then agains she was an unusual woman.

Morena continued her trek through the woods. She passed the flowery meadow and picked some heather. The flowers comforted her. She came once more to a section filled wiht trees. There was a strange feeling in the air here. She hid behind a tree and saw a puff of smoke appear in the air. The smoke thickened and whitened, and a man appeared from the smoke. He stood on the forest floor and straitend his black robe, which was covered in stars.  The man must be a wizard, and he appeared to be very old. His skin was pale and wrinkled, his long white beard hung to his waist, and he was bony. However, this wizard must be very powerful, since he had obviously mastered a teleport spell to allow him to travel to distant lands. Morena wondered who he was and where he came from.

The wizard took a map out of his robe's pocket, looked at it, then started walking in the direction of the castle.
Morena followed him at a distance.

The wizard reached the castle, crossed the bridge over the moat, and stood in front of the gate, which was guarded by two knights. Morena hid behind a tree and watched him.

The wizard addressed the guards at the gate.
"Good day to you, noble guardsmen. I am Manannan, a wizard of great renoun from a distant land. I have heard of your fair kingdom, and heard even more about your king, Graham. Tales of his adventures have been told at many inns and taverns throughout the world. Since I have a fondness for traveling, it seemed appropriate that I should visit Daventry to see this heroic king for myself. I understand that rulers are very busy men, so if I should wait a while before seeing the king, I will not mind."

The guards looked at each other. "I will inform his majesty that you are here. Please follow me and wait in the hall." One of the guards said.  Manannan entered the castle and stood in the hallway while the guard announced his visit to King Graham.

King Graham was in the throne room with Queen Valanice, talking to his royal advisers. The guard saluted and bowed beofre him. "Your majesty, a visitor has arrived from a foreign land. He is a wise wizard, and he wishes to speak with you."

"Well now, this is interesting. We have not received a foreign visitor in a few years. Send him in. I will speak with him immediately." said Graham.

The guard fetched the wizard from the hall. Manannan entered the throne room and bowed before King Graham.

"Your higness, I have heard of the sufferings of Daventry when its three magical treasures were lost. I have heard how you, as a knight, recovered the three missing treasures and became king. Your quest to rescure the lovely Valanice has also been told throughout this world. I knew that I must see Daventry and her clever king for myself. As a wizard, I take delight in meeting adventurers who use their wits to solve their quests." said Manannan.

"You are most welcome here, Manannan." said Graham. "I am humble pleased to see that tales of my adventures have been told in far-away lands, and I hope that other people may be inspired to perform great deeds themselves. Please tell us more about yourself. What country do you come from?"

"I come from Kathor, a country that is many days journey by sea from here.  Magic is my family heritage, I've been practicing the arcane arts since I was a child. A demonstration...." Manannan took of his hat and pulled out a rose that looked like it was amde from sparkling red fire. He released his hand from the fiery rose, and it floated to Queen Valanice. "Go ahead, take the flower, it is quite cool to the touch." He told her. Valanice gasped and reached out a cautious hand. The rose glimmered as if made from scarlet stardust. Valanice took the large magical blossom and held it up to her nose. It smelled like a rose, and felt like silk. Then the rose disappeared in a puff of red sparks.

"Marvelous!" said the king. "You could entertain us at dinner, I you would not mind."

"I would be happy to perfrom feats of illusion for you, my lord." the wizard said.

"You may stay in Daventry for as long as you like, sir wizard. I would be happy to have you as an honored guest in my castle. I will give you a tour of Daventry myself. For now, the guard will show you to the guest room. I will see you again at dinner tonight."

The guard escorted Manannan to the room prepared for him. Meanwhile, Morena had entered the castle through the kitchen door, and she had listened to the wizard and the king's conversation while in the next room. There was something strange about this wizard. Even though he seemed friendly, Morena did not trust him.

On the evening of the same day, Morena was passing through the woods on her way to the woodcutter's house. She saw a strange, eery yellow light coming from a cave. She crept closer to the cave and heard Manannan's voice coming from inside.

"My plans are going smoothly, I have the king and queen bamboozled, and soon the little prince will by mine. I have never had a royal slave boy before, and the idea of humiliating graham's son is delightful." Morena gasped.

Inside the cave, Manannan was talking to someone, obviously another wizard, via a crystal ball. The pale yellow light came from the ball. Her gasp cave her away. Manannan turned and saw her in the doorway.

"You! You are the one who murdered my sister! I will destroy you now!" Morena was frozen to the spot with fear as the wizard pointed a bony finger at her.

Just as he was about to zap her into oblivion, a wall of white light appeared around her and blocked the spell.
Graham's fairy godmother had arrived just in time to save her.

"Cursed fairy, I will make you regret helping my enemies." Before he could attack the fairy, she teleported her self and Morena far away.

Morena found herself on a foreign island covered in lush foliage. The island appeared to be floating in the sky!

"Where are we? What happened?" She asked the fairy godmother.

"I teleported us away from Daventry so we would be safe. We are in the fairy kingdom of Etheria."

"Thank you for saving my life, but I'm afraid we must get back to Daventry. Manannnan plans to kidnap Prince Alexander." Morena said.

The fairy shook her head. "I cannot let you go back. It is too dangerous. Manannan is much more powerful than his sister, and he will kill you on sight. Come with me, and I will introduce you to King Oberon and Queen Titania, who rule this land. They will surely welcome you here, and give you what aid they can."

Morena followed the fairy as she lead her through Etheria. She knew that she must find a way back to Daventry, to save the royal children.
