Here's a quickie I wrote up.  Something you'd hope you'd never see in a Green Isles newsletter.

The court room erupted into furor, and Jowel's integrity as a guard was questioned, after he called Abdul Alhazred a "scimitar-swinging dune monkey," and then later referred to him mockingly as "Ahab."

"These remarks were a display of a complete lack of professionalism," stated the judge.  "Alhazred stands before this trial for murder and treason, not because he is of arabic descent.  It's an attempt at profiling, and these kinds of unprovoked, blanket, racist comments will not be tolerated, ever, in this courtroom."

Jowels, of course, didn't hesitate to defend himself.

"Unprovoked?  He killed our king and queen, incited feuding among the islands, and conspired to kill the princess, not to mention the numerous times he referred to me and the other guards as 'flea-bitten mongrels'.  I think I can call him whatever the hell I want.  And as far as profiling is concerned, if we're not going to keep an eye on people who are from other lands, we are opening ourselves up to this kind of crap all over again."

"We pride ourselves on being diverse and multicultural," stated King Alexander.  "His comments may have offended some, since there are other arabic citizens in the Green Isles.  But we are also isolated from the world, and we probably could have been more careful about who we let enter this country."

I wonder if this is inspired by the recent US problems?

I think locking up Alhazhared is too lenient, they should execute him, I can think of several painful ways to do it...or at least chop off his hands and his manhood. Heh, I'm being evil.
