I was able to read part of Cassima's Story.  It's interesting enough to make you want to keep reading it, and I liked how you were able to use parts of the existing, official story to make room for new things (incorporating the story of the wizard who turned himself into an aardvark into the origin of the guard dogs.)  Very nice.  I'll read more of it later.

I read your story "Edgar's Tale".
WOW! how can you write so much and so well?
Anyway, I wanted to note that you assume Edgar didn't know any magic before Lolotte's death. Why? I mean, he still was (and knew he was) a fairy's son, even if she was an evil one?
Also, the story doesn't explain why in KQ4 Edgar has blue eyes while in KQ7 they're green (or black). I guess that can't be explained (I like him better with blue eyes, but then I like the way he was in KQ4 better).

Thank you for commenting, a few kind words never hurt an aspiring writer. I thought I would be just an artist when I grew up, since I learned how to draw before I learned how to write, but look where I am now! Assistant (and somewhat inconsistant) writer on the KQ9 team. Lucky me.

As for the questions, the magic episode is a scenario where Edgar is born with magic powers, but he is unaware that he has them. Why is this? Why didn't I notice this before? I should have thought it over before writing that thing. My explanation is that Lolotte was an oppressing "mother", and even though Edgar was her son and knew her to be a fairy, she either forced him under the belief that he had no powers, or refused to help him develop his powers. I know there are lots of loopholes in that theory, but it's the best I can do. There are several other bad mistakes in that novel, I'm sure.

As for the brown eyes/blue eyes thing...it's just one of those terrible inconsistancies that can't be covered up, like when the SCS Eureka gets blown up at the end of SQ5, but in the SQ6 intro, Admiral Toolman comments on Roger Wilco's successful return of the Eureka. I just pretended that he'd had brown eyes all along, as lame as that sounds.

Besides, neither his parents have (or seem to have) blue eyes, and Oberon's eyes seem to be brown (he squints a lot, so it's hard to tell), and if he had blue eyes plus that brown mane of hair in KQ7, he would have looked a little like me (nothing personal, really).

Thanks again!

"Cassima's Tale" is an excellent account of Cassima's strength through all the turmoil she had to face, without knowing what would happen or when it would happen.  It also does a fine job filling in the countless gaps in the story that Sierra left open and unanswered.  Nice work.

Rosedragon

I'd say that Cassima's Tale is my favorite. They're all excellent stories, but that is the one that left the biggest impression on my memory.

Thanks for the comments on Cassima's Tale. It is the longest story I've written, and I've recently completed another story that's come close to the same length. I admit it is a little extravagant, but I felt I needed to write it so that "the balance would be complete", so to speak.

Well, I gave your stories a try, but they lacked any real adventure. I was really kinda bored with the cassima story. And I dont much like edgar, he doesnt really belong in KQ if you ask me.

And I noticed you wrote about everyone but conner.  ???Being the strong andventurous type, wouldnt he be perfect for an interesting story?

Anyways, you write really nice, descriptive. I had to reach for my dictionary many times. Sign of a good writer, I guess?

Akril

Well, I have to admit that I haven't really written any stories about Connor because I've never played Mask of Eternity. And I have to admit that I think it doesn't really belong in the KQ series, personally.
