If by some small miracle I'll manage to get hired to the programming team, the joy of beta-testing would be lost on me - I would already know how to solve the game then (since I would be the one programming it), and I wouldn't get that excited about playing it ahead of everyone else :-\

Besides, wouldn't you need someone who doesn't know anything about the game to test it? or do you have enough of those on the team?

No Storm, they don't have enough people on the team who don't know anything about the game...They need a few devoted fans who don't know anything (about the game, that is)...hint, hint!

Are you referring to me specifically? 'cause if this is true to everyone, you might want to take off those recruitment ads you have there :P

Unless you code *for* peanuts, in which case it's cheaper for your company, but sucks for you. ;)

yeahhh... and for KQ9 it would be even less then peanuts (for free!! ...go KQ9 team!! ; ) ...not that i mind though ; ) but I'm still wondering what the peanuts have to do with it...

I think she was just trying to point out that you need to be a long-standingly useful part of the team (or perhaps just a long-standingly useful community member... it is a good idea to get a healthy amount of "outside perspective", IMHO. The creators of a work can run the risk of "getting too close" to their work and thus missing errors that people not familiar with the work would pick up on, but I digress.) before you'd get to do any beta-testing... you need to show you'd have qualities that would be good for beta-testing, you can't just waltz in off the cyber-street and say "Here I am, where do I start?".

Unless that's not what she meant, in which case, ignore me. ;)

Long-standing?  If it has to do with community members, well, I hope I've been around long enough!  I mean, I know I've been a member for over a year, but I did have about a nine month disappearance...

racx_00

yes... well almost, cuz it wasn't exactly 22 years, bit more... but I don't think those few months would matter... would they? ; )
