Voices?

On the info, it says there will probably be an optional voice pack. Is there any way people could sign up to help out with the voices? Because I would like to help. But if not, that's ok. I was just wondering.

Hey! Welcome to the KQ9 Forums!

We will be having online auditions for certain minor roles. Keep an eye out for when that time comes.

Auditions for the major roles will be in person in New York City sometime in February 2004.

Aw crud, I live in Utah. Count me out. But for the minor parts, can people record on the computer and email the files? Because I can't really afford an airplane ticket to New York.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant by online auditions. You would record an audio clip according to certain specifications (i.e. *.ogg file format, under 30 seconds, etc) and submit it to us.

How would I record *.ogg files? I don't currently have anything that directly records in that format... unless I convert from wav to ogg...

Yeah, you'd have to record it in wav and then convert it.

Will you ask everyone to record the same voice sample?
I don't suppose you'll be releasing any lines that would be in the game?

I thought the online auditions were supposed to be more of a perk for the fans than anything else $:-\$
If someone gives in a recording with bad quality/acting, you could always ask someone else to do that part online or give it to one of the NYC actors

It's not all just counting. I don't know which of those minor roles Cesar wants publicly revealed. Don't forget that the lines you read would be from the plot itself, so he doesn't want the whole world seeing important stuff. I'm not even sure if the lines you read would be literally from the plot, or if he's going to make separate ones just for auditioning.

Still, you do have SOME idea of how many minor roles there are in the game... is it closer to 3 or to 30?

Giving the lines to someone doesn't necessarily means everybody's going to know about them.
You should ask people to be discreet and keep the lines to themselves. You could also give them a long list of lines to record where only a few are really in game, so they won't know themselves what's going to be in the game
