Hee. Well, you need to go easy on us n00bs, anyway. I've never done any acting of any sort before.

BTW, if you want bad acting, load up a program like Game Audio Player and go through KQ6's resource.sfx file. Scary is not the word for it. ;)

I want our fan game to sound more professional - so I've got the whip and the brass knuckles and will use them to inspire my actors through FEAR!!!!  MWAA HAA AA HAA HAA HAA!!!! FLY MY PRETTYS, FLY!!!!!!!!  I will use the Killer Monkeys to strike fear in their hearts so their voice overs will be .

Good start, Mike. That sounded very[/i] professional.   :P ::)

You know, if you guys really wanted to promote the voice auditions, you could attempt to get an article posted on http://games.slashdot.org/ . But only if you think your server could survive the possible bandwidth influx without rolling over and dying. :suffer:

I think we'd exceed our bandwidth limit in a day!  That would be a scary thing - although, that's a great way to generate buzz.  Slahdot rocks! (I'm such a geek :D)

Hee, I agree. I don't read /. religiously, but I do like to pop in every now and then to see what sort of weird stuff has popped up... especially if there's some big techie or gaming news that has happened.

On a slightly more on-topic note... how are we going to know what parts to audition for? I mean, I, for one, don't have any particular preference for a part. I plan to treat it seriously, but I'm mostly auditioning myself, one, for the sheer heck of it, and two, because it gives me something to do while tagging along with my roomie, so I wouldn't really care if I ended up as Peasant Flower Peddler #5 or something. (In fact, I'd be surprised if I did well enough to end up as anything else. :suffer: ) For two, I have absolutely no idea what part my voice would suit best. (I don't do impressions, so while I hopefully can act, when it comes to actual tonality, you're sorta stuck with what's natural to me.)

Is there going to be help for us complete n00bs? :suffer:

Peace & Luv, Liz

TakariFreak

When we audition, are we going to be told what "voice" to recite the lines in?  (like what the mood of the speaker should be when speaking those lines).  That would help i think, since you're get a more accurate "reading" one who is the best suited for that...

Yep - you and Cesar have a script to finish (I'll have ch. 8 done by then at least :)).  And we'll have more casting to do - then we can get the online auditions going!  OH YEAH!!!!  I can't wait to open this up to everyone on the net - it's going to be INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But FUN  ;D

I still can't wait to hear the Rosella voice...did you record something so I can hear it??

And man, online auditions - whoa! I've got at least, like, 4 or 5 friends who've expressed interest in it to me, and likely more that don't even know about it yet. Including a girl! An actual girl! Yay!

(We had far too few females at the auditions, for those wondering why this is a big deal.)

When's that info going up again??

Allert van der Leij

Mike,

I've found a perfect contestant for the upcoming auditions next saturday. The friend - Tjalle - I was hanging out with in NYC (introduced himself at the auditions) was staying with his nephews on 14th street. One of his nephews is a great kq-fan, and has played all of them as a kid (he's a lawyer now, go figure ;) ). I guess he's very interested in applying for the auditions. According to Tjalle he's very good in impersonating Arnold Schwarzenegger (he kinda looks like him too). Maybe he'll have a great voice for one of the guards. And since he has an appartment in Chelsea, it wouldn't be much of a problem for him to attend. I don't have his emailaddress yet, but I'll let you know as soon as possible once Tjalle is back in The Netherlands.

Just letting you know I'm still there in spirit ;)

Mike, this is Joseph Balaj, just wanted to say thanks for having me at audition and allowing me to audition. It was a great experience and I enjoyed very much. I'm looking forward to what lies in store for this awesome game and can't wait to play it when its released.

Hello Mike & Company:

Star Foster here.  I just wanted to echo Joseph's sentiments.  Thanks for the opportunity to audition.  I enjoyed the experience immensely!  You guys were very kind. :)

Being a gamer, I too look forward to seeing the finished project.

Cheers,
Star

Hello again and welcome to the boards Star & Joseph!!!  Hope you stick around here, it's a fun time  ;D

I'm Katie (one of the writers, and the only girl on the 'review board' as it were, from Saturday).  You both very well, and we were glad to have you audition! We're excited too :)
