Yet another poem...

I seriously have to make a thread for all of my poems and fan-fiction to go into... Is that possible/allowed? Is possible, maybe we could merge my other threads and rename one to Dark-Dav's Writing Corner or something. If at all possible... So, any way, here is another poem I had made for a book I plan to write someday... And please, no plagorism! (spelling?)

Two sorcerers fled
From destruction
To create a world
With no warfare

Their child was cursed
To become the figure
Of death
For the rest of eternity.

His only hope of
New humanity
Is to willingly let
A human enter his domain
And challenge him

He must engage in combat
And challenge the dead
To find his way out of
The impossible

The human must become
The Guardian of the Living
And defeat the
Guardian of the Dead

The battle will spawn new allies
And new enemies abound
The outcome is unknown
It will last eternities untold...

I like it.  :)

Your use of vocabulary is wonderful.  It may sound silly, but your word choices actually made me feel like I was watching the story unfold:  "fled", "create", "willingly let", "enter his domain", "engage", "challenge", "engage in combat", "defeat", "spawn new allies", "new enemies abound."   With a very nice ending:  "It will last eternities untold..."  You seem to have a solid grasp of how to manipulate language in order to present a vivid picture for your reader.  A very engaging piece, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what your opinion is of your poetry, but I hope it is fairly high.  Publishable?  Most definitely.  It seems as if there is some sort of storyline here, and I could see a whole series of these poems linked together.

I found this poem to be very well written...one that left me with a sense of attachment to it.  I would think that is one of the goals of poetry authors in general (to capture their readers), and I think you have mastered that aspect of it.  You have left me intrigued, so now I just need to find some of your other works.   ;)

Very nice.   :)

Thanks! I actually never knew I had a knack for poetry until only months ago. I knew about my writing gift since the third grade, but I have never really applied it to poems. The poems I write generally have to do with books I intend to or plan on writing. I am quite happy with some of this stuff.

I think they are great, to be honest I also like a lot of Kimmie's writting (she writes some beautiful poems too). And regardless of the style, remember that sometimes it goes to personal matters to people liking one more than the other. It doesn't mean it is bad though, not at all :)

I liked the other one better, too :D

And yeah, I think you have some nice stuff going with poetry :)

I do read this poem and think it is not my best work. I appreciate the honesty, say!

Well that is really good about becoming a writer or an artist, sometimes is like you create something yet you won't leave it alone until you think it is *perfect*. But I liked so far how you have approached the lenght and topic of each, which shows you sort of take time to make it as fitting as you would believe it should be.

I would totally say, keep up the work and obviously one will become more popular that others, if so being the case that just means you are really good because you get to aim for different styles and yet people like them overall AND choose a fav :D

I always support arts in any form even though artists drive me crazy :P

Awww... I drive you crazy? XD Just kidding... Thank you. When I sit down at a comp and decide to write something, my head becomes a sink. The faucet is turned on, and keeps flowing forever until I turn it off. Sometimes I get wrapped up for hours in my writing! I do have other poems, but for copyright issues I wish not to post them. (Basically I have poems based on tv shows. I expanded on a poem in a tv show. I added a new section to it, but I do not know if it counts as fan-fic. I also have a few kq ones here and there...)

Forgive my double post, but would it be possible to merge all the threads that I created in this section into this one, and re-name it Dark-Dav's writing corner or something? Just so I don't keep creating excessive threads for my various pieces of writing that may come in the future... Thanks!
