Help with DOS Games --WINXP

hey guys, i am really in need of help, im running Windows XP, and i have recently downloaded some old Adventure games Fable, LSL, some other interestign ones. and i am in need of help on how to run them/install them on WXP because when i do, it runs a DOS screen, and it freezes. i have a brand new Computer, and cannot run them. do i need to install them on DosBOX?

Be very careful. To the best of my knowledge, talking about piracy and warez is a violation of forum rules.

Probably. Even if you could get the games to run in XP, you'd probably need a program like VDMSound to get sound working. DOSBox will kill two birds with one stone.

Its not illegal. when the ERA or somehtign hasnt protected it. it son abdandonia, its perfectly legal.

Abandonware is not a proper legal concept. Unless the copyright owner of the software has explicitly released it into the public domain, United States law currently states that copyright applies until 70 years after the death of the author of the work (or 95 years in the case of a corporate work).
