Quote from: copycat on November 12, 2003, 02:15:44 PMA few months ago, on an outhing with the family (3 'guys' and one 'gal'), our car was parked on a very big parking. And while we had a general idea of where our car should be we spent at least 10 minutes traversing every parking row, trying to find our car. So tell me, is that ability hereditary? :)

Hee, beats me. My mom and I both are terrible at finding the car. And I always ride with Harrison when I go to visit his family, so I don't know how his folks are at car-finding. I did go on a ride with a (male) online friend on two different occasions to two different malls, one humongous, and one medium-sized, and he was fairly adept at finding his car.

Oh, there were marks indicating what area you were in, but unfortunately they stopped just before the area where our car was parked. :P

Must be my pink (see 'gender) side then. ;D

I rarely remember exactly where I park the car at parking lots, but I usually guess the general vacinity pretty well.  When I go to the mall I always choose the same entrance, so I guess I use that mall entrance as the landmark.  If it's an airport or a themepark they usually have letters/number ID's and then it's just remembering those which is easy.

Same here 8)
Of course, the times I parked my car and had to remeber where I parked it could be counted on the fingers of one hand  :P

I've never been to a mall, so I wouldn't know there are several entrances. Hypermarkets I go to, but they only have the one exit, and their parking lot isn't that big. Furthermore, it's not really that far, so I usually take my bike, and it most certainly is no problem  locating that mode of transportation again. 8)

You've never been to a mall??  :o You must have, but maybe they're called something different there?  By mall I mean a bunch of stores all put side-by-side into one building which usually has two or three levels.  I usually go there to buy everything but groceries (the one closest to me doesn't contain a grocery store within, but usually they do).   :)

I've never seen a grocery store in a mall before, and I've been to quite a few. An extra big CVS maybe, but no big honkin grocery stores yet, those are as big as malls as it is around here. ;)

I know exactly what malls are, and I know where there's a mall, but I've never been there. You must know Belgium does not have that many malls, so we'd have to drive about 20-25 minutes to get there, while our hypermarket, and butcher and so on, are much closer to us (me), so why should we (I) go to a mall?
I might have strolled through part of a mall while I was on Florida, but that has been a long time ago so I can't remember for sure. 8)

I've seen stores in malls with big grocery sections, but I don't think I've ever seen an actual grocery store in a mall. They're usually in plazas.

Although I did once get to go to a huge store in Michigan called Meyer's which is sort of like the b****** child of a Big Y and a Wal-Mart. Very cool.

Geez, hon, 20 minutes is nothing, even to a Massachusite like myself! You'll definitely never want to go to Michigan, then... they consider a 2 hour drive to be a short hop! :P

And malls are lots of fun to just go and window shop around, let alone real shopping. There's grocery stores and simple goods stores like that near me, but for stuff like books or electronic stuff, or clothing, or what have you, you pretty much have to shlepp out to one of the local malls.

Depends on what you're comparing it too, isn't it? 20 minutes compared to 5 minutes is 4 times bigger!
