hey alex, thanks! I wrote back. I THINK it uploaded, but not quite sure  :-\ Cna you see if it works? I can't seem to figure out the URl for it!

Whenever it DOES come through, folks, I'm the first person singing and also sing the melody on the parts we split. My friend Melissa is the other singer, and also wrote the song. I added some additional lyrics to it.

What a gorgeous voice you have! And the song, I like, I like!!! Your friends a very gifted composer indeed, I love the fact the accompniant can work with just piano. I'm very impressed indeed. Any more hits coming from the chicks who dont play poker then?

EDIT: oh yeah one more thing, I didn't expect your voice to sound like that for some reason! I thought you'd have a rough (in a good way) voice, gravly like. No idea why at all hehe.

Wow, really nice! ;D The wind or whatever is hitting the mike is slightly distracting, but the voices are really beautiful. ;D

Yeah, I love the chorus/bridge she came up with - it's an "epic" song. ;-)

Aww yay! Glad you like! :D It was fun recording it - haha, sorry I don't have the sexy gravely voice, Alex ;-)

The "wind" is mostly us being too close to the mic. Unfortunately, her setup isn't *quite* as nifty and professional looking as Mike's (for those of you who saw it), but more like...a keyboard, comuter and computer microphone. And music program for recording and mixing. Hmm..maybe I'll see about getting some kind of cool mic for her for her birthday.

Anyhow, glad you like! The second verse-set (after the first "I'll be by your side") is what I wrote. The rest was her. Oh! And we called ourselves "Chicks Who Don't Play Poker" (the guys in the house were playing at the time, soo..you get the idea).

This is so awesome!  You didn't tell me you can sing, Katie.  And this song is just beautiful.  And the two of your voices blend so well.  There are times when you're singing together and it sounds like there is one person singing with a chorus effect added to their effect.  It's excellent!  Has Caesar heard this yet?  I'm sure it will give him ideas :P  He'll add yet another song to KQ - he he he.

haha, I don't know if he has yet or not..I'm sure we'll know when he does! And yup, I sing, all the time. Random songs, songs of my own or others creation (though the ones other people make tedn to be better, hehe), and I sand in chorus in HS and Chorale in college. I miss it! Now it's just mostly my car that gets a good listenin'. ;-)

Katie -
The song is great! you and your friend have wonderful voices!  ;D
I also thought you'd sound different... maybe because I kept imagining you saying "Weeeeeeeee!" all the time  ;)

Has Caesar heard this yet?  I'm sure it will give him ideas :P  He'll add yet another song to KQ - he he he.

ANOTHER SONG??!!? you mean there are songs in KQ9??  :o :o

Didn't *someone* say there would be no songs?? :o

Well, I guess they'll have to put in at least on song. KQ5, 6 & 7 had songs, not to mention KQ2+... and they want to outdo AGDI in everything  ;D

I heard the song myself, a sort of test version, I think, with Mikey doing the vocals. Very cool.

Oops......did I say song?!?!?!?  Well, honestly, it's not definite.  A tentative song has been written, but I can't guarantee it will be in the game (or in the end credits).  Because the music really hasn't been written yet.  The music won't be written until the game is near completion so that the composer knows exactly how to choreograph the music to the actions on screen.

So, right now, there's just ideas.  Nothing set in stone.  We'd like the song to be there, but we can't guarantee anything.  And NO, KQIX is not going to be a musical.  There's no way I'm becoming musical director too - we still haven't gotten the voice recordings started yet!!!!!  But soon, very soon.

Is this sorta like an audition forum? Or are we just sharing our vocal talents? Are they looking for singers (perhaps PLEASE a Cassima? :)) Anyways hi I'm new! (Well not really, I've been following this project for a LOONG time, like since it started, but I haven't been on the boards for ages)

Welcome Cassim!  :lovegoggles:

This thread is basically just a showcase for us forum people with actual singing talent. *cough*notice how I haven't submitted anything*couth* :P

Personally I don't know if Mike's looking for singers, but we will be starting Online Auditions soon.  If you would like to sing a few bars with your audition, feel free to do so!  :D
