HA HA HA, Jeysie!!!  I didn't realize those were links in your post.  I never clicked on them!!!!  There's just too much to read in these forums!!!!!

btw - you sound sexy :).  You'll definitely be used in the game.

And I loved the Whizz song!!!  That's one of the funniest barbershop songs I've ever heard!!!  It's brilliant!  I'm not a fan of the barbershop sound, but those lyrics were hilarious and your roomie and his friends harmonize very well together.

Don't tell him, though, that the sesame street one, someone keeps going flat. ;)

Is your roomie a baritone or a tenor?

So, if I don't play Alex, I'll give myself a small role (In a Mid-Eastern, Californian accent "Welcome to my shop of delights, King Graham!  Would you like to partake in a pecan pie?")

I'm hearing Apu saying this for some reason! haha

I'll try to listen to those other links at home later...but I have heard Mike's voice and it's AWESOME!  ;D  I love singing too, myself, but I don't have anything recorded of me. I haven't done anything really but sing in my car with the radio since I graduted college, where I used to be in the Chorale.

BTW, singing types - try the new Playstation 2 game Karaoke Revolution.  Awesome game!! Same people who make Dance Dance Revolution, which is also tons of fun. :)

:::NOTE::: To hear these I'm afraid you have to right click and do Save as. My web space doesnt like linking apparently!

hahaha backstreet boys! Believe me that comment would make one of the band members very happy to hear ;)

Mike your voice is just amazing! You ever audition for phantom? Bet you'd get it hehe. I've already told Jeysie how cool her teapot song is and the nice sarcastic comments near the beggining just make me crack up hehe. Oldbushie, yours was very soulful indeed! Get a backing on there and upload it again  ;D

well heres the rest of what we've(band) done and the above song in full.

www.acsauk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Dont_be_shy.wma - I've got the first verse on this and then I'm on the chorus's and bridges(background mostly :P)

www.acsauk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Just_be_Straight_with_me.mp3 - Well you've heard this already but now you can hear the ace guitar solo near the end. The only solo parts on this I've got are ad libs on the second chorus and then backing on the rest of chorus's and bridges etc

www.acsauk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Take_this_pain_away.wma - This one I had a rather bad throat on the day we went to the studio so I'm just doing backing on the bridges and chorus's. There might be a few ad libs thrown in too but I'm not 100% sure

We're going definately more towards rock now anyway, pop just doesnt cut it anymore (Plus i hate this type of music with all my guts  ;D)

EDIT: HAHAHAHA I've just listened to Jeysie's again and that speaking part at the beggining is tooooooooo funny!

What do you mean by backing? Background music? I'm not sure how to put that in, I might have to make a midi for the song as it's a bit hard to find the song as it is. :P I'm not a pro at making extravagant music on the computer yet. ;)

I really like your voice, oldbushie!  It's so soothing.  The song is beautiful too.  Thank you for sharing that.

This is becoming so much fun!!!!  I want to hear more people's music!!!!

btw - oldbushie and Jeysie - believe or not, the mics you are using are high enough quality to use for voice in the game.  See - that wasn't so hard, now was it?  So if you can't make it to NY, you've got everything you need to record at home! :)

I'm going to listen to Alex's songs now!

I'm giddy!  I'm loving this!!!!  More! More!  I promise I'll upload more too.

I just bought a mic stand and mic screen (the ones I had have been lost to a theatre company - luckily my mics weren't).  So now I can record songs properly. :D

yeah Bushie, just a nice Midi backing for it, theres usually MIDI sites for any type of music you could think of so you wouldn't even have to make it your self. Also if you can find a copy of or demo of Cool edit pro 2 (or any sound editing software for that matter) You could make it sound proprer professional and combine the midi in with the MP3 of the singing.

Well,I do have a mic on my computer Jeysie (btw I didn't know that was how to pronounce your name before!), but I don't have a place to upload.

Highly enjoyed the teapot song, very nice! :)

I couldn't get others to work  :-\

Alex - you guys sound professional!  However, I too, do not like boy-band songs.  Let's hear some of the ROCK!  Now that I'd really like!

Speaking of rock, if I can get some good quality karaoke songs I'll sing some more "rock"-type tunes.  It's hard for me, but I love singing it.  My voice leans toward musical theatre and now I've been learning opera songs and my voice teacher is convinced I'm an operatic tenor.  Who knows?

Of course, I only know show tunes, operas, and 80's rock!  But there are some really good shows that came out in the 80's.  Let me see if I can find Pity the Child from Chess.  If I don't burst a lung singing it, I'll post it up on this.

Damn this is fun!!!

I wanna hear more!  Let's hear Say and Cesar sing!  ;D

Hehe its going to be some time before we make any rock tracks, I need to learn how to play the guitar properly first! Its very hard after learning the keyboard and piano, I keep finding my self trying to compare all the frets to individual piano keys and getting confused!

(chuckle) They're my roomie's mics, actually. I don't think me and my roomie will have a problem getting to NYC. Although if I did record something at my house, I'd use his 'puter... my sound card doesn't seem to want to record anything without an underlying hiss to it. :P

Well, if the resultant file isn't more than a couple MB, e-mail it to me, and I'll upload it to some of my webspace for ya. :)

And... for some reason everyone always wants to pronounce my nick "Jessie". I never quite understood how one could get "Jess" out of "Jey", but maybe I'm the weird one. ;D

Hee, nothing wrong with that! I haven't heard much opera, but I love oldies, show tunes, and 80's stuff.

It'd be fun, but I hate listening to recordings of my voice, so trying to playing the game with my voice in it would freak me out! :suffer:

I have the same dilemma  :-\
But I'm sure in my case it would be solved by Mike giving me the "don't call us, we won't call you" shove out the online audition's door after he hears my voice sample  ::)

OK, my roomie was in a creative mood tonight, and wanted to get into the voice trading craze. 'Cause he doesn't know I uploaded all these songs for you guys. ;D But anyway. Not really singing, but definitely kooky. Sorry they're a little redundant, but we couldn't pick one of the two we liked best. :) (Hint, Mike, there's more links here! ;D)

(links go happy bye-bye)

Oh, and I played Mike's song for my roomie. His commentary on the matter was something along the lines of "That man is God's gift to barbershop leads!" So be careful, Mike, he may kidnap you after the auditions are over and make you sing barbershop. :suffer:

Lol, he's just as mad as you Jeysie. ;D

I like the fact that he was refraining from the teapot song, though I think I can sing better in the high range. ;)

*makes a great falsetto song to be posted soon*

What, you think I'd have a normal roomie? Surely you jest.

What's scary is, he actually can hold a note for 35 seconds, I swear.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Oldbushie

I got him beat. ;D

It trails off slightly near the end, but here ya go, about 45 seconds of one straight note. ;D

Ok, here's my falsetto ;D:
http://mason.gmu.edu/~alight/Silent%20Night.mp3

Sometimes I can hit higher as well, but the weather's currently playing Ping Pong with my nose and throat. :P

edit: Downloading the songs in Opera distorts them with loud beeps for some reason and I cannot seem to fix this. Any help? :(

And now for some reason I can't figure out, my mic won't record me either. I tried using my sound recorder program, which I figured would do the trick, but it didn't pick up my mic, just sounds from the computer. Hmm.  :-\

Hmm. Are you sure you've got your computer set to record from the microphone? Volume Control-Options-Properties-Recording-Microphone select box Check that, and uncheck everything else.

Damn, Jeysie - your roomate sounds sexy too ;)  You both sound secsay!

He better be auditioning - with a voice like that, we can use him everywhere!!!!!

OLDBUSHIE - 45 SEC!  I can't hold a note for S**T - well, not in the last few months anyway.  I'm having some vocal technical difficulties.  Sometimes I have breath for days and sometimes I can barely get through a simple phrase.  Looking back on what I just wrote, I realized that I rhymed.  ;D

Now I want to hear the voice behind the face of Ronald Weasely!  Let's get Katie's mic working!

What sound card do you have, Katie?
