Quote from: mfortunato on November 12, 2003, 09:34:25 AMHe better be auditioning - with a voice like that, we can use him everywhere!!!!!

My roomie's response was, and I quote, "YAAAAAAY!!".

Quote from: oldbushie on November 12, 2003, 12:42:25 AMedit: Downloading the songs in Opera distorts them with loud beeps for some reason and I cannot seem to fix this. Any help?

Hmm. Odd, they sound fine to me. Are you actually listening to them from Opera itself? You might be better off setting Opera up to pass the file to a seperate sound player when it's done downloading.

Oh, and nice hanger! Now, learn to do that full voice, and you'll be a top-notch barbershopper yet! :)

And, thank you Harrison.  I'm not so sure my voice would be right for barbershop.  And to be honest, while I love the tight harmonies of barber shop (and I'm very good at holding the correct pitches), I'd probably end up beating up the tenor - I can't stand that whiny Irish tenor sound - it sometimes hurts my ears.  I know it's the style, but I just have never liked it.

But I LOVE WHIZZ!  And you, Harrison, have an excellent voice.......will you be available to record in NYC?  Or only over the web?

That goes for Jeysie and oldbushie as well.  Alex, I know you're in the UK, it would be a bit difficult.

Of course, now that I know what you sound like, the next step is - can you act? - he he he

Oh, and after reading your post and seeing your last name, he says he likes you even better because you're also Italian. ;)

Molto Bene!  Grazie, Harrison!  Parle Italiano?
I certainly don't ;).  But I learned a few words and phrases while in Italy a few years ago.  I fell in love with Rome.  It's just beautiful and everyone is so friendly and so relaxed - well, except for the drivers, they're insane.  Interesting "fact" - if you have to cross the street in Rome, just keep your head facing the direction you want to go and walk.  Do NOT look at the drivers, or they WILL hit you!  It's really strange.  They stop for you if you aren't looking at them.....perhaps when you look at them, they think you are going to stop for them so they keep on going and WHAM!!!  I saw it happen - of course, all of the cars are mini and there's so much traiffic they can't drive very fast, so the person who was hit was just a little pissed, but not at all hurt.  Wacky, weird stuff.

Well, I used to have asthma, still have a bit of it though. But every year they gave me this thing I had to breathe through for as long as possible before my lungs gave out to test how bad my asthma was. Maybe in some way my lungs are stronger than normal now. ;D Also, I sing a LOT. ;D

YAY! Well the show (Grease) has finally finished and it was absolutely awesome, but now this means that I have to move onto the next musical part of the year, the band hehe.

Ok well heres the beggining of our new song(band) and acyually I'd appreciate as many opinions on it as possible, good and bad please :D

Its just the bare guitar work done so far, pretty basic and a drum machine used for the drums, lyrics are pending too but we've got another month to go before we pay another visit to the studio.

Well, since everybody I knows says I can't sing in the right tune, I'm going to refrain from posting anything in this thread, especially since it seems to involve singing. :-\
This is my first post in this part of the forums, so excuse my lateness in replying, but I too consider Jeysie's voice perfect. And no, I never thought to pronounce her nick as 'Jessie', I got it right from the beginning. 8)

Perfect for what, is the question that begs, here. ;)

Anyhoo. It's all because my choice of "I'm a Little Teapot" melted your brains. :suffer: One of my online friends claimed it melted hers. ;) (The others all reported various reactions of either spilling liquids or snorting said liquids out their mouths/noses. Ah, my work here is done.)

Perfect for singing ofcourse! And trust me, the ability to sing that pure without any polishing is not that widespread. :-*

I was trying to post an MP3 of myself and a friend singing a song (very cool song, too) that she wrote ..(I wrote some additional lyrics in it). But it was too big :( Anyone got a link for a program I can use to chop up an MP3?

Or a place to host it?

I'm a little slow on the posting, here.  Been ridiculously busy!

Anyway, Alex, I'm listening to the new music.  I'm digging it.  Definitely a good direction to go in.  No more boy band for you guys.  This sounds fantastic!

I know you are worried about variation, but you can do a lot with vocals for this tune.  It sounds very much like a rock'n roll love song.  I dig it!

My only question - do you have a live drummer?  These drums sound synthesized (and I apologize if they are real drums - I don't know much about drumming, other than I have terrible rhythm - perhaps your drummer has an uncanny sense of rhythm  ;))

Just about to PM you Katie...

Yeah mike the drums are synthesised atm :/ Obviously when we actually become a band again (we're down to 2 people now) we'll get a drummer in. The main thing with the band tho is that neither me or Chris are amazing on the guitar (Heheh ok I have next to no guitar skills :D) or bass so atm all we've really got decent instrument wise is keys which would be moi. Vocals are sorted but I'm worried we may turn into a :shudder: busted group (all Americans who have not heard the annoying gits can do so here: http://www.busted.com/ )

SO the song will probably transform sooner or later with loads of other stuff added, although I do like our most recent effort about a girlfriend having an affair with a teacher at school.
