Actually, I think college/university was far more difficult than any job I've previous had.Like Koko, I graduated in April of this year, and it feels great not to have to go back to school. Those back-to-school ads alone give me the creeps. But just to give you a heads up since you're studying essentially the same field as me: testing does not end with your last exam. I had one job interview where I had to write a programming test before even being called for the interview, then I had to actually solve written questions at the actual interview! They seemed to enjoy asking questions about linear algebra & C++ (two things I hadn't done in 4 years), so needless to say, I didn't do very well. I actually have another interview tomorrow where I have to write another "standardized" programming test, although this time it'll be with PHP & Java. Those two languages I've had far more experience with, but still I spent all day today studying old textbooks, notes and Googling. Hopefully, it'll all be worth it.

Quote from: hercrabbiness on August 29, 2007, 12:31:23 PMCollege doesn't start for me until the end of September. We're on the quarter system, so we start really late (and end really late). I'm not quite ready for it to begin since I'm not even done with summer school, but I get a nice little break before it starts, so that's okay. College, easy? WHAT NONSENSE DO YOU SPEAK!? The classes I have to take for my major are horrendously difficult, and I'm always aiming for A's.. it makes my college life very stressful. But at the same time, it is pretty fun. I hope this year is as good (if not better) than last year was!
Quote from: dew7 on August 31, 2007, 09:40:13 PMCSC?Anyway, the dew7 real name is Dan which is short for Daniel. I work as an assistant teacher in New Mexico. I help out with computers as a secondary job responsibility at the elementary school and went from school tech. to systems administrator and then my work identity was stolen and used fraudulently by someone else. It really is terrible because it happened in 2005 in Arizona that the home that I was renting was burglarized and my social security card was stolen. I know now that my identity is safe in God's hands.Anyway, I will be going back to college in late September and taking a 3 credit graduate course and it is an Intel Technology course that looks really cool. Apparently it is a secret and restricted course to only a small group of teachers and educational assistants (me) and it was offered to me of all people. I am so excited to be a graduate student. After, Sept. 11, I realized I had to go back to school to relax and refocus and this will help me also since I am on leave until at least Sept. 21 pending the investigation that was fraudulently used against me of computer sabotage by the assistant principal of the elementary school that I work at. Anyway, all is well since I trust in something greater than myself and my thoughts and prayers go out to you all who have blessed and cared for me so greatly.
Quote from: tessspoon on August 30, 2007, 07:38:07 PMNot looking forward to that. But I'm only a sophmore, so that's a ways off. I'm really looking forward to this semster if only for my CSC II class. There's only 6 people including me, and the professor is awesome, so it'll probably be a really fun class. My others though... going to be tough. Two math classes and *choke* a lit course. I'm planning to finally declare my major as CSC next week.
Quote from: Rosella on August 31, 2007, 04:20:23 AMThat's comforting since I'm planning on going into the same field... And I'm a sophomore too, but in high school. Am I allowed to be in this thread? *isn't a freshman anymore* Bwahaha.
Quote from: racx_00 on August 30, 2007, 06:46:24 AMI tend to be a distraction in class and get along well with the lecturers. I also slack and leave everything to the last minute, i still manage to pass though...
Quote from: Oldbushie on August 30, 2007, 08:29:59 AMI have a year left in college, let's hope I survive. At least this semester should be interesting, I finally found a local improv group to join!
Quote from: Tage7 on September 01, 2007, 12:45:30 AMSounds rough. If a potential employer asks me to recap on anything related to Calculus, I will commit suicide. I hate Calculus. I hope your interview went well!
Quote from: Yonkey on September 01, 2007, 10:08:56 AMUgh, I hated Calculus too. High school Calculus wasn't bad, but Calculus in university really sucked, especially Calculus II.
