I signed up as a beta tester :)
I don't hold much hope of making it though, I signed up for the KQ2VGA beta back when they were recruiting testers and didn't get picked then either ::)

Sorry to hear it. :-\ I wonder why this topic is so dead, I'd have though one would be thrilled. :P

Yeah, me too :S
I guess QFG fans don't post around here as much anymore... :(

BTW, thanks for telling us about this! I don't frequent any other sites, so I wouldn't have known about this otherwise :)

Oh wow cool, that's great news! I admittedly never finished QFGII because I HATED the maze system in it. I wouldn't even deal with it :P

Well, I know of QFG only vaguely as an RPG of some sort, so it really doesn't mean all that much to me.  :-\

IIRC, once you buy yourself a map you hardly ever need to deal with it again.

"How can I buy a map when I have no money?" I asked.
"Simple! just go outside the town, kill and loot some monsters till you have enough" They replied.
"D'oh!" I said.

:P

Shame, you really should give it a try
QFG is more a cross between RPG and adventure. You still have classes and stats, but the emphasis is more on the plot and puzzles than on fighting - you don't get dungeons-load of monsters and much of the fighting is optional, characters have very elaborate dialogues (more than KQ, in fact) and the puzzles are on par with those in adventure games. Some puzzles have can be solved in several ways, according to the character you chose to play.
So, go play QFG right now! at least try the first one, so you'll have some background when QFG2VGA comes over  :say:

QFG is responsible for me getting into any RPGs at all. I much prefer plot based things to having to just run around killing monsters just to build stats. That's why I like Baldur's Gate and Knights of the Old Republic especially, besides QFG, cause there was so much more plot to those even if basically the quest involved killing things to find something, at least there was plot to it and not just random hack and slash for stats.

It's been since last year practically that they last had an update. I'm glad to see AGDI isn't dead yet. I've never played QFG either, and I don't know if I ever will. RPGs aren't my thing, with the sole exception of Fable. I'm sure this will be a good remake, as AGDI makes top quality products. I once had the theory that the Anonymous Game Developers were Ken and Roberta Williams themselves, but I was proven wrong. It was an interesting theory while it lasted. I can dream, right? XD

While there might not have been an official update, the game is entering beta testing, which the Fannatics competed for. :)

Which Fannatics are we talking about? Did QFG have fannatics just like TSL? I thought the Fannatics was purely TSL made. Of course, I haven't kept up with AGDI recently, so I wouldn't know what I'm talking about.

I've been keeping an eye on that website too. I was so excited when I learned. My parents were the ones who introduced me to King's Quest and Quest for Glory. I am really looking forward to this. Also, a King's Quest IV demo is in production. Yay for bringing back old games! ;D

I think Cat confused us with AGDI. :P

This is what happens when the team keeps you busy :P Sorry! I thought you meant there hadn't been an update with TSL for a year XD

I would never say such a thing. After all, I myself participated in the fannatic contest, so I know that there have been updates... But thank you for clarifying.
