I just heard Vivendi and Activision are merging to become "Activision Blizzard". I don't think this will affect TSL in any way, but I wanted to ask anyway  :)

Also, any other thoughts? Does this mean 50 Cent Bulletproof 2 will have Blizzard's prestigious name on it? o.O

Activision and Vivendi merging... sounds bad.

I didn't realize Blizzard was part of Vivendi...

In any case, I really hope this won't have any ill effects. :-\

That is quite nutty...but couldn't you post it as a link next time rather than a giant post?

Calling all moderators, looks like we got the same thread in two sections of the forum....

Anyway, I don't see this affecting TSL.

Well it seems Sierra, Sierra Online, Vivendi Mobile and all of Activisions business will be swept under one division called Activision Publishing, while Blizzard will become a separate, more independant division of Activision Blizzard. It may be that Sierra will be digested into this brand, as I've read that Activision Publishing has always been a monolithic brand name

EDIT: I've read their PDF operation plan extending so far to '09. Sierra is staying, and they intend to green light a lot of products for Sierra in order to improve Sierra's operating income, which apparently for 07 was " -159m" and will seek to create sequels for Sierra's games and will create ''world wide appeal''. Meanwhile, Activision and Blizzard will continue with tried and true formulas.

*feels like someone just pushed the Firefly button* XD I'm probably just reading into it too much... I'd personally love  to see the King's Quest/Torin's Passage series move forward as originally intended (Torin's Passage being released on the years between KQ games)... but I have this sad apprehension that that's not the kind of things they are green-lighting  :(

I'd REALLY hope for that kind of thing too, Delling, but somehow I doubt it :(

this doesn't affect TSL.  only Activision and Blizzard are merging, not Activision and vivendi, even though Blizzard is owned by Vivendi.  the new company is called *gasp* Activision Blizzard (or ActiBlizz for short)
