Excellent adventure game.  Reminds me of King's Quest in a lot of ways.  You can get it from infamousadventures.com

Check it out.

Ah, that game... I got it from bigbluecup.com. :) Cool game in many, many ways, and very reminiscent of King's Quest (as well as some of the remakes of King's Quest). There are a few things that bothered me about it (some of the characters' appearances, a few "wtf" puzzles here and there, repeating dialogue...), but overall I thought it was really fun.

That's because it started out as King's Quest 2½, but switched to being a stand-alone AG (adventure game) partly due to the fact that it wanted to avoid Vivendi. So the many character was changed from Graham to Maeldun Whiteblade and (I think) Valanice to Branwyn.
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

I started it and then forgot about it. That seems to happen a lot when I try and do adventure games without a guide. :P The little bit I played seemed good though.

If a guide is all you need to keep you playing the game, here's a walkthrough. Please try it again, it's a great story, with multiple endings. Also, if you complete the game, next time you play you can get commentaries as you go along by using an extra item: the blue cup.

I miss when it was King's Quest II and a half. I loved the idea, and it worked very well in the timeline. A twenty year gap between KQII and III has to be resolved somehow! When I saw that they changed the entire premise of the game, I was very dissapointed. I have not yet played it, but intend to eventually.

Ive seen it featured on that website and I have it bookmarked. I havent played it yet because I have dial up so I have to bring my lap top and download it somewhere else, but im also playing other games right now. When im done with the games now I will try that one. It looks like fun!

I also started playing Tale Of Two Kingdoms and stopped... from what I've seen it looks amazing, very impressive for a fan/indie game. I particularly liked the way the begining of the game just drags you into the plot :)
I definitely mean to go back and play it very soon 8)

Are you sure about that? They might have switched to this from KQ2.5 (some of the backgrounds in the game were even in the early KQ2.5 demo they released), but the plot seem to be completely different, not just character names - IIRC, KQ2.5 was supposed to be about some failed quest Graham went on to find Alexander :S

I though it was Valanice, not Graham.

You could be right that KQ2½ was supposed to be about Graham trying to find Alexander, and thus the main reason for the hero to take the voyage to the new realm had to be changed, but I think that most of the polt, puzzles, and such would have stayed the same. (i.e. Graham would be accused of attempted assassination, so he has to clear himself in order to continue looking for Alexander, etc.)

Again, I'm pretty sure it was Valanice.

I think you might mean a different fan-game. As I recall it, there was one where Valanice went on a quest to find him and failed.

Ah! I know what you're thinking of:
King's Quest 2 ¼: Breast Intentions by Intermezzo Software.

Plot: Prince Alexander has been kidnapped, and his kidnappers are feeding him infant formula. Alexander is allergic to infant formula, and it is making him ill. Queen Valanice sets out to find Alexander so that she can breast-feed him.

XD I agree. But somehow they managed to make a whole game out of it.

From the KQ Omnipedia:

In the score years between King Graham's wedding to Valanice and their son Alexander's triumphant return and defeat of the vicious dragon, a tale of intrigue, romance and heroism unfolds. Graham takes his army to the nearby realm of Theylinn at its King Vortigern's behest, to aid the struggling country against a goblin invasion. But in the dark of the night, a foul murder is committed, and Graham wrongly takes the blame. Framed and imprisoned, our beloved king must escape and travel the lands incognito in search of the real assassin, not to mention a solution for the goblin troubles. Featuring a full cast of giants, fairies, wizards and scheming nobility.
