I just finished ATOTK today (well, I reached one of the endings... I still intend to re-play it and try for full score). I must say it's one the best fan games I've ever played, right up there with AGDI's KQ2VGA if not better. It does a great job creating an intricate and immersive world, with a complex, non-linear plot. Playing the game, you can  see that a lot of thought and hard work went into every aspect of it - GUI, graphics, soundtrack, plot and puzzles. The only thing it's lacking is a voicepack, which is a shame not to have in such a professional-looking game

But in the dark of the night, a foul murder is committed, and Graham wrongly takes the blame. I think the game is better off without the KQ connections, and not just because of the copyrights issues - not everything has to be about King's Quest, and it's good to see new, original games.
I wonder if the game's popularity suffered as a result, though
