#20
The first few releases had cool features (is mainly referring to Snow White). Nowadays, the special features are Hannah Montana singing Kiss the Girl or something a rather. Oh and not to mention a crappy kids game, that doesn't even work on The Jungle Book. XD

I'm sure LN will understand my choice of song. XD

Exactly. Why don't they forget about the "trendy kids" who watch their DVDs and instead, offer some true bonus content, like behind the scenes featurettes and such. Those are much more interesting then "Hannah Montana singing Kiss the Girl".

Agreed. If I actually owned these movies on VHS, I wouldn't fork out the money. They don't really offer anything worth while. Snow White and Lady & the Tramp would be the only two I'd look into if I had VHS copies.

I have VHS copies for most of the good Disney movies, but I played them to death. (Almost.)

Actually, my sister has Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King on VHS. But yeah, both are worn out. Shame, but oh well. I guess the one good thing about the DVD releases is that we are still able to bring the memories back. XD

Yeah, but they won't have that cool commercial at the beginning of the Lion King. :(

I don't want just the regular Sword in the Stone so I will hold off for the Special Edition one....The thing that's so "special" about them to me is the cleaned up audio and picture...If you get the regular ones they're just a copy of the video onto a DVD basically, not nearly the quality.

They are making another animated movie, Princess and the Frog which'll be their first traditionally animated movie since 2004.

We have probably about 30-40 Disney movies on VHS, they're one of the few things my mom doesn't throw out cause she says their collectible.

Ooh, they are?! YES! Thank god they're making one.

And my mom was going to give away her VHS ones but I said no to that, I want them forever, even if I replace them with DVDs. They dont put the same covers on the DVDs that are on a bunch of the VHSs that's partially why I wanna keep em forever.

Technically, its Ashley Tisdale not Hannah Montana. :P
*has the song for some reason*

Wow! That makes the bonus feature even BETTER! :P

I wish my copy of Lion King was here. But alas, it has not yet arrived.

I didn't even know that they had that song on the DVD. I was just using that song as an example. XD

I didn't realise they were going to go back to 2D animation for one movie. I do remember something about Rapunzel being done with graphics tablets, 3D but 2D look. Can't remember exactly...

Yeah, the plain old DVDs that are part of the Gold Collection or whatever are pretty average. Although, most of the Gold Collection doesn't get better than that. Lucky that Sword in the Stone is getting better, I wish they'd make an Alice In Wonderland Special Edition.

I'm just glad that they're doing another traditionally animated film. I was just recently wondering if going to the 3D look has actually HURT Disney, since all of us grew up with the traditional animation.

3D animation is cool and is definitely a change that was going to happen, however I do prefer the 2D animation. I feel the 2D animation had more passion and vigor, whereas the 3D animation has nothing to it.

Of course, I do believe Pixar have done wonderfully with 3D animation, but they are known for 3D. Disney started out 2D, and I guess it's kind of hard to accept change. Although, Disney hasn't had the best movies of late, so even a new 2D animation might be crap.
