Activision Blizzard May Sell Sierra

Activision Blizzard is going to sell Sierra and it's titles (except for 5 which include Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age, and 3 others) off. This means King's Quest, Space Quest, LSL, Phantas, QFG and others will be up for the highest bidder, along several of Sierra's studios and possibly the Sierra brand name.

That sounds like a good and terrible idea all at once. You'd hope one good company would just buy all the good series, and different companies don't buy different ones...

It would be really cool if we could buy Sierra or at least the King's Quest games. But I don't know if the fans would have enough money even if we put a fund together. Is there anyway?

I'd gladly put money down. You realize if a group of us owned the rights to some of the games, we could license them to whatever studio we wanted. We could even have a KQ movie made me if we wanted.

That would be great! I always wanted to buy the Monkey Island licensing and sell it to Bill Tiller

I would hope some company with a decent heart could come by and pick up the KQ, SQ and LSL licenses. As for fans buying the licenses, I'd put money into it if I could. I have the money (in the 6 thousand range...) but I lack other things neccesary to put money down into it. I almost hope that EA picks up king's quest. Just imagine what they could do for it. Perhaps someone should set up a petition for EA or some other company to pick up the license. My only question is how does the selling of Sierra and it's properties affect TSL? Considering that the game has a fan license granted to them by Vivendi, and they will no longer hold the rights to the KQ series, does this mean that any of the companies (like sq7) that were shutdown by VU can start back up again?
