Best one-liners

With a writer as absolutely brilliant as Roberta Williams, it is natural that some of the greatest adventure game lines ever written came with King's Quest.  I was playing "Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow" (which is, of course, the one I voted for  ) today and found myself laughing at all the awesome lines that she came up with.  Got me thinking about how ALL the games have their moments of pure glory...in one line.

Though I think that KQ6 has the best of them, there are a lot of lines that I well remember from the other games, too.  Here's a quick list of some of the greatest King's Quest one-liners (the ones with hearts are ones that I actually still use in everyday life, nerdy as it sounds):

Quest for the Crown:
"Nibble nibble, little mouse, who's that nibbling on my house?"
"Looks like the witch turned you into a gingerbread person--or was that a Graham cracker?"
"Hey, I ain't no MOUSE, got it?"
"Count fingers."  (Not really a line, but I always do it anyway!)

The Perils of Rosella:
"Okay, but you'll be sorry..." (when you choose to open Pandora's Box)
"You think about it."  (<-----It says that line at least twice during the game.  )
"GRRRRROOOOWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLL!"
"Don't you know that some swamps and quagmires can pull you under?!"
"Horrors!  You have been swallowed by a giant whale!"

Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder:
"Graham, look out--a POIsonous snake!"
"That wasn't a smart move for Graham to make..."
"Wherever did you find my gold locket?"

Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow (here it comes...)
"Egads!  Is that cold!"
"After all, you only met her that once." (I love this one 'cause it's such bull.  As opposed to Valanice and Graham's extended courtship...?)
"Zounds!  A trap floor!"
"It's a proclamation..."
"Nice!  Bright red!"
"Rat a tat tat!" (when you click the TALK icon on the drum in the pawn shop)
"Bravery and suicide are two different things."
"I suppose it's just my nature to break through enchatments..."
"He has the gauntlet--IMPOSSIBLE"

The Princeless Bride:
"Prince THROCKMORTON?!  Mother, he's so BORING!"
"Rosella...my daughter!" (My sister and I say this one in a pathetic high-pitched wail.  Still makes my mom laugh, since she used to make fun of it too.)
"Tell me about your father, Rosella..." 
"...she was briefly imprisoned for moon theft, but now we like her just fine!"
After Valanice challenges the guard by saying the creature he tells her to obtain doesn't exist: "Oh, and you're gonna let a little thing like THAT get in your way?"

I never played Mask of Eternity, so I can't quote that one, but this is my "off the top of my head" list.  Which other ones do you guys like?

Oh my gosh, I thought that was a joke!     Too funny.

I always wondered what kind of woman would marry Jollo.  To whom is he already spoken for?

All my favourites have already been said, I still say some random lines too, everyone thinks I am insane.  (They might have a point...)

Only one that hasn't been said that I always liked was "They're rocks. This far into the game and you're still clicking on rocks?!" from the KQ3 remake.

Don't know if you can get it other places, but I got it by going to the screen with the castle in the distance before defeating the dragon and, well, clicking on rocks.

I've always been rather fond of the death quotes.  Somehow dying didn't seem so bad when you get a quippy one-liner.

So true.  Like when you die in the catacombs from the "three roses laid upon a bower" puzzle: "Three spikes and you're out!"

Funny how I remembered the line directly after that, but completely forgot about that particular quote.     I definitely agree with you there, one of the best lines ever.

I love that quote.  It's so cheesy, but true.  It IS in his nature to break through enchantments.  He is a member of the royal family of Daventry, it's what they do.

I never played "Quest for Glory," but I thought of another awesome one-liner from KQ 6: "Ohhhh, I HATE not getting what I want!!!"
