A King's Quest Audio Drama
« on: June 17, 2009, 01:21:22 PM »
Just an idea I had, but: King's Quest Serialized Audio Drama.

Out of curiosity.. Who'd be interested in helping organize one?

It could be based off of the stories in the games or newly written material about our favorite royal family and friends.

It would need voices, scriptwriters, and audio engineers, but it could be done (much in the same style as the shows featured on darkerprojects.com) and I think it'd be fun.  What does everyone think?

I LOVE the idea and I'd be happy to help.  It would be a lot of fun, too.

What can you do?

I can do voices/writing.  I might have a bit more time to mix audio with the summer coming up.

I can maybe  try voices but I don't ha very many got ones.  I could probably mix voices or something.  I know how to do all that stuff.  I can try writing too though I'm not the best.

I could maybe do a voice or two, but writing is really my forte.  Let me know if you need help!

Sweet!

So, so far I've got (potentially) Halds and myself for writing, atec for mixing.

We can always get more voices from around the internet, but I think we should hold the primary auditions on this forum.  We could also use this as a promotional tool for TSL.

What do you guys think it should be about?  My favorite KQ game/storyline is KQVI, so I propose an adaptation of that, but I'm very open.

You should try and get Hercrabbiness to do some voices. She did a really good job voicing some of the characters in her Let's Play KQ VI on youtube that she just finished.

Do you mean we come up with a story based on "Heir Today Gone Tomorrow," or do you mean you think we should completely re-enact the story?  I suppose I'm a bit confused!  :)

Well, I want to stay fairly true to the story, but take some liberties with it.  Like, maybe Alexander can get into the castle with Beauty's clothes AND rescue Cassima's parents from the dead.  Also, I think we could show more of the events that happened beyond Alex's point of view.

For example, we could elaborate on the journey to the land of the green isles, show Beauty interacting with her stepmother, and have several flashback sequences revealing tidbits (like Cassima getting locked away and Alhazred stealing the treasures) as relevant to the advancement of the plot.

Do you have the KQ companion?  That would be great for some other background info to use in the drama.  i'm loving this idea BTW.  maybe we should make a site or google/yahoo group for talking about it if we get enough people working on it.  Just so we don't use the TSL forum for all our postings of scripts or whatnot.
