Does that photo remind anyone else of KQVI?
Also, check out the photo gallery to see Depp's Mad Hatter.

Long live The Silver Lining!

Awesome!  All we're missing are the talking tomatoes and snapdragons.

The Mad Hatter looks scary!  Johnny Depp will pull it off, though.  He usually does. :D  Tim Burton is kind of hit-and-miss with me, but I think this movie will be great.

;P Ugh, the pictures look like the movie will be rather creepy and twisted. I'll stay with the 1999 adaptation. I don't think that Jonny Depp could pull off half the Mad Hatter Martin Short was. The 1999 film included many other popular actors: Ben Kingsley, Christopher Lloyd, Whoopi Goldberg, Peter Ustinov, Gene Wilder, and Miranda Richardson. 8)

Watch the movie and you'll go around quoting lines from it for the next month. (Or in the case of my family, entire scenes. ::))
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

I have to disagree with Elessar, sorry. I was pretty disappointed in that version. I like the Disney animated one better and also the one they did in the 80s that starred alot of famous folk and was broken up into two parts, Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. Jabberwocky FREAKED me out in that version. I just thought the 99 version was just using famous people to be like "LOOK WHO WE GOT TO DO THIS" more than them actually being good for the parts.

The 80's version was FANTASTIC! We have that around here on tape somewhere.

To each his own, I suppose. I haven't seen the 80s version, so I can't compare it to that one. As for the stars in the 99 version, when I first watched it, I didn't even know who most (if any) of the stars were, so I was simply watching the movie itself, without anything influencing my perception of the film beyond my own likes and dislikes.

The flowers with faces are frightening.  But TOTALLY looks like the Isle of Wonder--you think there's a giant chessboard behind those gates?  :P

Absolutely to each their own. Hope I didn't come across as too much of a dick in my post!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088693/   Also if anyone cares, that's the version I was talking about really liking. And of course I can't wait to see Tim Burton's! (His only film that disappointed me was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I think that's because I'm so hooked on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder from my childhood)
