Quote from: supermanflew on March 27, 2010, 09:19:13 PMHmm, sorry I missed that. There was 30 pages, I scanned looking for that kind of information skipping the consistent "I'm so sad, etc." posts. And waltzdancing, I have been in situations dealing with lawsuits. My company pushes the "grey area" all the time. We just aren't scared of lawyers. Do what everyone else does. Accept donations, add advertisements, charge for the game, etc. And I was expecting a piece of your mind, you didn't loose composure at all (Posted on: March 27, 2010, 11:17:47 PM)"Oh and I wish you were running the project. That way you could get slapped with the nice big lawsuit for not abiding by a C&D." I would love to. Give me full responsibility for the game. I will ensure it gets released and I and everyone will be safe, I assure you.
Quote from: oberonqa on March 27, 2010, 09:24:38 PMThe TSL team did this game for FREE. They haven't made any money on it and they have everything to loose by risking a lawsuit. Oh sure you would get the game... everyone would get the game. And the TSL development team would spend the next couple of years in a legal battle with Activision. They get to pour lots of money into legal fees and whatnot... while you get your game. Why does that sound very one-sided?
Quote from: supermanflew on March 27, 2010, 09:26:24 PM"Right now, if the TSL team can work something out with Activision, we will get to see the game, and possibly more. If they just leaked it on the internet, we'd get the game, but zero hope of anything following it."I'd rather the latter than the more realistic result of never seeing the game at all. Just my two cents.
Quote from: waltzdancing on March 27, 2010, 09:29:23 PMWe will see the game even if the team has to rework it. Everyone here will know what it is and who is who. I have been waiting since 1998 for another kings quest game and a the waiting hasn't killed me yet or any other fan, it has made our mouth water.
Quote from: supermanflew on March 27, 2010, 09:31:13 PMI "work" for a company that I own. I know far more about lawsuits and contention than you could imagine. And if you read my post I explained ways to offset costs. There is a huge fanbase here, they could easily monetize that. Also, if they gave me all rights and ownership for TSL then whatever I did with it would land on me, not them. And I would get away with it, so it wouldn't be one sided in the slightest. I think you skipped over my posts.
Quote from: supermanflew on March 27, 2010, 09:37:01 PMwaltzdancing, it would never come to that.and rider, I just reread your post and couldn't help be laugh. "Depriving us from seeing more". You'll never see the first one, and you're holding out for a sequel.
Quote from: supermanflew on March 27, 2010, 09:40:22 PM"Because the team is totally going to give the game they spent 8 years on to some random guy who "thinks" he can get it released without any legal backlash. As one Mr. Spock would say, "Highly illogical."" I'm sorry to resort to petty insults but you are a complete tool. Of course they wouldn't hand it over to me, it was all hypo.. you know what, I'm not even going to explain it."If you can't give specifics... then I stand by my assessment that what you want is exceedingly selfish and aimed towards nothing more than self-gratification."It wouldn't be self-gratification. Why do you assume I'm only thinking of me and being selfish? It would be for all of the fans and especially for the creators! They would get to see their game in the hands of thousands of fans. I don't understand why you assume I'm the evil one here. Also, it would never get to court, I have ways and know people in many countries. If activision wants to try and sue the netherlands then let them try and fail miserably.
