THE EXCITING: I got my bridesmaid dress, shoes, and jewelry today for my friend Jennica's wedding!

THE BAD: Sunday night and it's pouring outside.   Could things be any more depressing?

The POSSIBLY PROBLEMATIC: trying to live off of just what's in my wallet in the meantime

The BAD: I haven't played with the vis. center yet (I've been busy with research )
The BAD: I have the rather boring IMO task of just driving the vis. center and making sure the guests don't blow anything up (which would be really hard for them to manage considering)... ... ...oh, and answering their questions (I should clarify that answering their questions is boring because 1) said questions are generally directed to whichever of us is doing the talking and 2) they are also rather limited in number)

The BAD: no TKD tonight b/c of bank holiday
The GOOD: bank holiday today
The GOOD: that means a day-off
The BAD: that's not as great as it might sound
The BAD: boredom

The BAD: not getting up in a timely fashion... ever...
The BAD: it's too cold in my room for such things
The BAD: also, it's too noisy outside for same

The GOOD: my parents will eventually send that stuff they said they'd send and then I'll have an electric blanket

The BAD: I think that breakfast sandwich disagrees with my stomach rather fiercely... ... *feels ill*

The FRUSTRATING: They just extended the deadline (previously 8 AM this Thursday) by two weeks - not to give us more time for what we already have to do but to give us more.

Open nights are nights the astrophysics part of the department does tours of the observatory and our visualization center (a 3D visualization suite hooked up to a super-computer).
