I had actually been wondering about that - very interesting to know.  And that was a very odd thread in general so I'm not surprised it resulted in the birth of a legend.

I've actually seen that thread before, once upon a time when I was nothing but a chamber-pot emptying Wizard's Slave surfing through the archives...oh, the suffer, how I detest thee. :wall:

Hehehe, while it is tempting to unleash the suffer, I will not do so.  Maybe when I am in the mood.....  :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer:

Apparently double posting was allowed back then. :)

Ya just because it's possible doesn't mean we deliberately do it.  We're usually too busy to even post once, let alone double post, but we do try not to double when we can manage it.

I think there's a huge difference though, personally, between double-posting in a short space of time, and double posting over the period of time of a few months (as long as there's a valid reason for bumping a topic!).

What it really comes down to, and I think we can all agree on this, is triple posting: a calamitous act. Truly a force to be reckoned with. Beware of the triple post.  :o

True, Mango. Although I've noticed editing the last reply in a thread also bumps it, of note.

Oh, really?

A lot of places that I've been to before don't bump posts when you edit your reply (if it's the last in a thread), so I guess I'm used to "bumping", as it were.  But good to know, thanks Katie!

It doesn't really make a difference which way you do it on these forums - if you were the last person to post and you post again, it edits your original and appends the new post to it.
