I posted this a few days ago, but that was before the site change.  So I thought I'd post it again.  Apparently it is going to be loosely based on the novel of the same name.

Actually, I'm a bit more interested in it without reading the book. It'd make it more new (to me) King's Quest content.

Needless to say, I'm excited about this thing.

I'm excited for it too. I played all the KQ VGA's too. They weren't bad. I've never read the books, but it does make some sense to have books between games to answer some unanswered questions. I think to make them PC games that match the series is brilliant. So now, we'll be able to play games that explains some things, in between official KQ games, and be completely caught up on the entire story that is KQ...because all it turns out to be is this wonderful story book after you play all of them. They all tie in together and it's like each game is it's own chapter in the overall idea of things.

...Anyway, I can totally imagine it opening like some classic Disney movie. You know, it starts off with a book cover with fancy lettering, might put the opening credits on the first few pages, then goes on to the story...

The books are all fun reads and I'll definitely have to check this out.

I remember at one point, when I had WAY more time on my hands, thinking of attempting to adapt "The Floating Castle" into a game with AGS. Never would have finished it though....

It's awesome. If you stick around, after the second time the wizard leaves I think?, you'll get a neat little cutscene. There's also a cutscene easter egg if you finish the game with full points. Oh, and if you walk around the hold of the pirate ship enough times, there's a cameo from another adventure game character.

Also, waiting for the 2nd time he leaves is like waiting forever, I get bored if I do that

The thing is I *think I have everything* which is why it's annoying me

I think there might be a spell you have to do before one of the other spells? Something about needing an empty jar or flask or something, but I can't remember if that was only for the original, is for the remake as well, or I just think that in my head for some reason and it's not really a requirement at all.

You need an empty jar in the original, at least. I'm not sure where you'd get it from.

Oh, then you get the empty jar from using what was in the jar in another spell. I think. Hold on, now I've got to figure this out... you'd think I'd know this as many times as I've played the remake...

I read Kingdom of Sorrow for the first time a few weeks ago (having previously read the Floating Castle) and I have to admit I was a little let down.  It's not a bad book by any means but I felt the story was poorly executed.  From what I understand Kenyon Morr are two authors working together and I kind of almost got that feeling reading it... as if two people were passing the narrative back and forth.  My biggest gripe was how Graham was portrayed, more as a bumbling lucky idiot more than a quick witted adventurer. I read the first line of "See No Weevil" and put it down for "A Brief History of Time".  Perhaps another day Mr and Mrs/Misses Morr.

yeh I got the jar from doing one of the other spells but it still isn't working
