Ep4: Too much static, no thread (spoiler alert for those who haven't gotten that far)

Hmm, I've talked to everyone I needed to (the nymph, Balloon Brothers, and clothing seller), in order to set off the "Balloon Quest", traded the old lamp for the new one (the brazier), and gotten the magic carpet. I've even talked to the Clothing Merchant again and she says she needs thread. I'd take it from the used magic carpet, but for some reason, though "it has threads hanging off of it", it doesn't let me pull it out; it just continues to give me static shocks.

Is this a bug, or have I forgotten something?

Sometimes you just have to use your "hand" to get what you want.

I've tried clicking the hand on the carpet in the inventory screen, and using the hand icon on the carpet when it's in the "quick access" bar. Neither seems to work, or I just get shocked...

Hm that's odd, you should be able to just pull it right out by using the hand.  :-\ If you attach a save file I can check it out.

Okay, let me know what you find... I hope it's just a case of me overlooking something simple, instead of an actual bug.

Hm yeah that is a bug and I can't pull it out either. I don't know why it's not working. Do you have an earlier save from before you got the carpet? If not I'll see if I can quick get a game up and make you a save with the progress you're at now.

Well, I always do multiple saves, but I don't think I have one that works. And even if they do, there's the chance that they might end up just as bugged as before (there's also one on the Isle of Mists if you head there first, instead of any other Isle, and talking to other people first. You get the story of Pandora's Box, but it doesn't show, and the narration continues as you walk, and kills the background music and general ambiance.).

So, just in case, could you please make and attach a save for me, please? I'd be most appreciative.

Ah ha! Going back, I've figured out the source of this bug. You must talk to the nymph, talk to the Mountgo brothers (you'll get the carpet), take the thread (I didn't have trouble that time around), talk to the Seamstress, then give her the thread and bingo, all you need now is the brazier from the lamp beggar.

'Thing is, you have to do the lamp part last... I didn't have it, the old lamp from the maze, with me when I tried this. Obviously, if you do that part first and give the brazier to the brothers, you can't take the thread (at least I couldn't). Weird!

Well if you still need it this save should work for you (even got the items in the right place!)
