Loving the game so far but the videos don't run as smooth (I'm quite sure is my configuration's fault) as I would like and that bothers me quite a lot, any suggestions to mend this?

The only thing I can recommend is making sure you video card and sound card drivers are up to date.  Also try lowering the resolution.... as sometimes that might help.

are you using an older AMD dual core cpu (ext. family=F, cores=2)?
if so, perhaps TSC drift is related to your problem.

CPU-Z is a good utility for determining CPU family, model, features, etc.
