Ok, I've just finished episode one and I have to say that it's really one of the most beautiful games I've seen. Everything from the textures to the camera movements to the animation was absolutely top notch. It was sweeping, engaging, dramatic...really fantastic. Almost every time I moved to do something, I was thrilled to just watch it happen. All of the graphics were truly, truly gorgeous.

The gameplay was fun too, though. It was nice to see how many things you could interact with, how many things had a story behind them. It was wonderful. Of course, I can't wait until the game really gets going, but I can't tell you how happy I am to have what we have. :)

Now, a couple criticisms. And keep in mind, I mean this in the most reverent way possible, but some of the lip syncing was kind of...grotesque. I'm not sure if it was my machine or not, but sometimes Graham's lips would just move violently apart, exposing all of his teeth and such. It was kinda creepy, but that was the ONLY technical gripe I have about the game.

And also, wasn't I a moderator for longer than Jafar was? I mean, really. :P

I really liked the camara movement when people were either talking or when you look at a specific object and such. Gives you the feeling that something is happening even when they are just talking  :)

Rosella, it's not just your machine. I got them too. But at least we can say Graham has some pretty pearly whites! Who knew toothpaste was so good back then! I just don't want to imagine what the bristles on the brush are made out of... XD

What are the qualifications to be a moderator?
I ask seeing as I've been around here since '03.

Can you send a screen capture of the issue with the lisync and his teeth.  I am not sure what you are referring to.  Thanks.

Not a clue. This was around 4 years ago, hadn't been posting all that long, got a pm from one of the moderators (whose long gone now) asking me to talk to him via im and he asked me if I wanted to a moderator. Turned him down cause I didn't want the responsibility (and still wouldn't) :P

I doubt it has as much to do with how long you've been here as how knowledgeable you are, how responsible you are, and probably how much effort you're willing to put forth for Phoenix.

Anyway, this is what I'm talking about. Graham's lips extend far past where anyone I know goes while talking. :P

I was running it in windowed mode 1024 x 768, if that's relevant.

Episode one was so amazing!! I really appreciate how you kept a lot of the game's charm while managing to make this version unique! The graphics are also beautiful. After playing through most of the original king's quest games this spring, I was concerned that The Silver Lining would not stand up to the originals, but I am very pleased with the quality of this fan game! Thank you!
