Thanks for all the hard work. You've captured the feel of King's Quest in several senses, and the production values are outstanding. But I did not enjoy episode 1 so I'm gonna leave some criticism.

As Cez, said in another topic, episode 1 is more of a reintroduction to the series. I ask why we need to be reintroduced at all. None of the KQ game were all that connected. You usually played a different character than in the previous game and the plot either had nothing to do with the previous games, or had very few connections, which you'd find out towards the end of the game. Either way, any of the first 7 games (didn't play 8 ) can be enjoyed with no prior knowledge of the series. What those games DID do was throw you into an awesome adventure, exploring new lands, meeting new people or monsters. With every new screen I'd be excited and in wonder of what I'd encounter.

So when I played Episode 1 I was really let down to find it only involved wandering around the green isles, and didn't even have any puzzle solving. Instead it seems to be trying to set up a dramatic plot line and to make me emotionally attached to the Grahams. I do not feel this is possible through cut scenes. The story in older KQ games was never well written or voiced acted, or even long. Any attachment fans have is probably because they got to play as said characters, much in the way people love the mute and bland Link from the Zelda series. Trying to impose an attachment through a series of lengthy cut scenes, with only some light walking to break them up is not what I expected or wanted in my first return to the land of Kings Quest in over ten years.

Naturally I am eagerly awaiting Episode 2, where I hope to get a real taste of what you guys can offer. I just hope the nostalgia is played down and Graham goes on a real adventure.

So I don't sound like a total whiner: I liked the narrator a lot. Some very funny lines there. I loved how just about every possible object can be clicked on with unique text. Many useless objects like benches have unique animations when you intact with them which was great and helps build the integrity of the world, something very important in adventure games, and very lacking in a lot of them. The moving camera when you look at things was a nice touch, and all and all the whole game feels like it was lovingly, and attentively crafted with a passion.

I've got my fingers crossed, guys.

Thanks for the feedback. I can tell you that episode 2 is both much longer and more engaging than episode 1. The game really starts to get good with episode 2.

You're not a whiner, at all. I think you really do have a point about quite some things that you've mentioned. I like the fact that you've also noticed the narrator. She - or at least her lines :D - is one hell of a witty person. It's like the SQ narrator come to life in a KQ game. I especially dig the part where she goes "shameless self promotion, I know lol". I also have reason to believe that this first chapter is merely a sneak peek, a warming-up lap and not what the rest of the game is going to be like. So:

Eagerly awaiting Chapter II !

And I love the cutscenes as well as the "zoom" on many objects when you explore them. This is very promising you guys. I'm really glad you had the courage and patience to do this for all the fans and the makers of past KQ games.
