No, I don't even remember the first book I read, or one of the first books for that matter. My long-term memory sucks. I wonder what'd happen if I should get Alzheimer, which is supposed to damage your short-term memory too. Would that mean I'd have absolutely no memory left?

Heh. Don't feel bad, CC, my long-term memory is also terrible. I barely even remember what happened last week, let alone last year, or when I was a wee munchkin. There are stray moments throughout my life I at least remember the gist of (though I tend to end up paraphrasing many of the details 'cause I don't exactly remember them), but that's it.

I've sporadically kept journals, on the theory that I really shouldn't let my past be lost. But then after writing in the journals for a while I'd go back and read them... and be so dismayed at how screwed up and depressed my frame of mind was (not to mention the crappy stuff that always tended to happen to me) that I would remember why I hated keeping journals... namely because some pasts are better off lost. Well, lost to the conscious mind, anyway... too bad the subconscious mind always seems to remember.

Because of my memory, for some years now I've also been keeping some sort of journal, so as not to forget the important things in my life and when they happened. Because you see, even if I remember something, I don't remember when I picked it up.

dont feel bad, I keep like 2 agendas, 1 journal and 1 notebook

on the agendas I keep work, college and personal events and such, on the journal keep personal stuff, and on the notebook I write everything down, even things to do in the same day

its not about being organized, I really have to do that or I would be a mess

BTW i really wanted to record for the KQIX online auditions , but i cant cos my families noisy and now they are in bed so i have to be a bit quieter and i get embarrassed when they are around and im speaking into a mic

If it's work related, I put it into my work-notebook too (M$ Outlook), along with lots of work e-mail.  Nothing work-related comes into my journal, and vice versa. Appointments I usually remember, and especially if I wrote them down, but other than that...

Heh. I tend to have a much looser definition of what I feel to be "private" than most people... most stuff that's traditionally "embarrassing" to talk about doesn't bother me overmuch. I figure, heck, everyone has to deal with that sort of stuff, why get all blushy over it? I will curb myself in some situations for the other person's sake, where I know they'd be uncomfortable... but if the other party doesn't mind, I usually don't either. I don't bother keeping a lot of secrets.
