Ok,

First off. PRAISE THE LORD THAT THIS HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!
I had fun and can't wait to get into the real adventuring in episode 2. I imagine this episode being as short and lacking in actual game-play as it was, because of it being just an intro.  I'm eagerly awaiting the real game.

Now - Onto my real question.

What's with the guy with the lisp???   I wish I made note of who it was, I'm pretty sure "Jesse Cox"?   But whoever did the voice for the Father of the Groom, the silly hat he was wearing with wings.  That guy!   I think he did the old soothsayer whatever the heck at the end.

Was that some inside joke with the voice actors?  Does the sound designer really not know what a "de-esser" is? Seriously?

I thought it was hilarious, but it took me out of the moment. I may have to turn off voice dialog completely in Episode 2 if that guy is doing more voice acting. Wow.

Anyway, great job and can't wait to play more!

I have to agree. I don't remember who the voice actor was, but he did the voice for King Oberon and the Arch Druid. I liked all of the voice actors for the other characters. I found them to be, for lack of a better word, "fitting". Even the voice actors for the Guard Dogs did a great job. I just couldn't understand how the voice actor for King Oberon/Arch Druid was picked. Not to say the voice actor was bad at what he was doing, but I think a casting director should know what voice would fit with what character. In KQ7, King Oberon had a thunderous voice, much like Zeus from the God of War series. Arch Druid in KQ6 had more of a elder, wise tone in his voice. Much like the voice of the other druid that warned Graham to not go sailing in the abnormal storm. Even then, the Arch Druid seemed to be darker skinned in this game, not to start a racial discussion, but I would imagine a voice would fit the ethnicity of the character as well.

All this being said, the voice actors (from what I'm told) have already been picked for the entire series of episodes, but I wanted to express my two cents.

I personally found the Arch Druid to be a fine casting decision. I noticed that the voice sounded familiar, but not enough to take me out of the moment. Oberon however, kinda bothered me, a lot. It just sounded really, really weird. Not to mention the fact that Titania is pronounced tie-TAIN-ia, and the fact that he couldn't pronounce his wife's name had me screaming at the screen every time it came up. ::)

The pronunciation of Titania's name annoyed me too, but I'm just admitting to myself that there may be many things that will quirk me and my KQ fanboyism. Regardless, I'm sure the story will more than make up for it.  ;D

I thought the way they pronounced Titania was odd too but it didn't bug me at all mainly because it's been a while since I heard anyone say it and I thought I might have remembered it differently. I'm glad I'm noy the only one.

But yeah I didn't think that the voice acting for Oberon or the Arch Druid was bad

Deloria

I liked him as the druid, but I thought Oberon was pretty bad too. :-\

I'm going to have to go back and listen to Oberon. The funny thing is that, as a speech therapist, I usually pick up on lisps...and I didn't with him.

He didn't have a lisp, he just had an accentuated 's' in his speech.

Am I the only one who ever found it cruel that a word describing a speech impediment that particularly affects the letter "S"...  Has an S in it?

Lithp.

Also, totally never knew you were a speech therapist Cat, that's really cool!  I actually had to have a speech therapist as a kid, so it's kinda cool to know one in my adult years.

Aww...thank you :)

And did you know that the trouble pronouncing r-sounds is called rhotacism. How cruel is that?

Lisp - trouble with s
Rhotacism - trouble with r

I_am_so_nifty

I think I might have had some form of rhotacism. I also had a bit of speech therapy, back in preschool. I think one of my problem words was "crayon", which I pronounced more like "cran" or maybe "cwan".

I'm like, an adult now or something? Sounds fake, but okay.

he speaks like Crispin(sp) from KQ5 actually  didnt anyone notice

MangoMercury

But you spelt it correctly there, Rob!

I still think it's mean to make light of people's speech problems by making the names of their impairments contain the letters they have issues with.

It's not so much a lisp, it's what we call a "Sibilant S" -- I don't know if that's the actual term or not -- but it's what Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris is (partly) about. When I hear people talk with them (other than myself, I have one :P) all I can think of is the chapter where he writes about being forced into speech therapy by his school, and he spends the whole time trying to avoid the letter "s" with his therapist... and finally she tricks him into saying "I'm sorry."

And, yes, Hero, Crispin also has a sibilant s in KQ5. A lot of people do though.

Hey may sound like Crispin (I can't recall what Crispin sounded like, personally), but no, it's not the same actor.
