That's according to a new article over at Joystiq.

To be honest, I've never really played any of Kojima's games before, but I am interested in his involvement in an adventure game.

What does everyone else think? Do you think the man behind Metal Gear Solid can make a good adventure game?

More proof adventure games live!

I don't play MGS, so I couldn't speak to that. But I do recognize the name (of the man & the game).

Yeah, I never really got into MGS, but I know my friend goes gaga over it (And I mean literally gaga. He's obsessed...) Either way, I'd like to see what he can come up with.

Same here - MGS just never really did much for me, but I am interested to see how his influence works in an adventure game setting.

I saw this too. I doubt he's working on a point-and-click adventure game though. From Wikipedia, "In the Western world, the genre's popularity peaked during the late 1980s and mid 1990s when many considered it to be among the most technically advanced genres, and it is now sometimes considered to be a niche genre. In East Asia on the other hand, adventure games continue to be popular in the form of visual novels, which make up nearly 70% of PC games released in Japan." I really think he's working on some type of revolutionary Visual Novel-type game. Although, I would be SO AMAZED and HAPPY if it was a point-and-click adventure game.

The problem I have with Kojima is that I think its clear he's in the wrong job... The MGS games are good, I'll grant that, but the heavy use of Cut scenes (and the occasional inexcusable few seconds of gameplay between two long cutscenes) suggest to me he'd be much happier as a movie producer.

I rather liked the MGS series. I didn't like it at first, cause I was really bad at stealth. The same went for Splinter Cell. But because I was the only one out of my group of friends that had a PS3, I had some friends tell me that I'd be missing out if I skipped MGS4. So I gave it, as well as the predecessors, a shot. I have to say, it was a great experience. But now I think the Metal Gear Solid: Rising is just a textbook definition of "milking the franchise". But an Adventure game would be interesting, I'd like to see that.
