The Tex Murphy series used FMV. Worked great, as far as I'm concerned! :-)

Also Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny used it (though it was pretty silly looking at times.)

i still have my copy of the 7th guest special edition with the making of VHS tape. me thinks the tape has a really good interview with graeme devine on his days porting pole position for atari. if i only had a vcr...

The first game that came to my mind was Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland. Then I stumbled upon a link on that page.
