I think everyone is curious about the Black Cloak Society because, most probably, if the game continued the BCS (That almost looked like babysitters club for a sec) would have been a major factor in it.
Lol! XD
Baby Chimp Society perhaps? ;B

Manannan is definetely, at least in my opinion, more powerful than Mordack and more dangerous.

Mordack was never as intimidating as Mannannan to me, considering that his spells are all ungainly and useless in most situations. Shrink a castle- how often do you need that one? And Mannannan could kill Alexander with a flick of the wand, whereas all Mordack could do is transform into powerful creatures, and try to win the fight with physical strength.

KatieHal

I'd say proof Mordack wasn't as powerful?

He couldn't reverse the spell but had to go find some kid who'd done it in the first place in a last desperate move.

Hmm...which could also suggest Alex was possibly more powerful than Mordack, now that I think about it.

And no, that's not a teaser, that's me pondering out loud.  :P

Hmm. I would buy that Mordack is less powerful than some because he couldn't reverse a spell. However, that doesn't necessarily mean Alex is more powerful than he... I would suspect that it is simply far easier for the original spell-caster to reverse a spell than it is for someone else to do it. (Now if Alex could reverse a spell he didn't cast that Mordack could not reverse, then we might have a case, IMHO.)

I always felt that Mordack didn't really understand what spell was used to turn Mannan into a cat. Like it happened all of a sudden, and maybe there are many different ways of turning people into cats.

Mordack would only have to lift his hand up and squeeze and then Graham would be joking to death.

I have a feeling KQ9 would have a major baddie as the head of the the BCS... sure, he may not have the exact same agenda as "The Father" from KQ2+, but it would probably be just as evil :o
Like I said, people like their villians in tight little packages with all plotlines connected and tied up - That's why people liked "The Father" to begin with ::)

There does seem to be a bit of a misunderstanding on Mordack's side regarding the spell that turned Manannan into a cat... the spellbook on KQ3 definately says the subject would remain a cat "Forever", not "until the original spellcaster says otherwise". He should have done his homework  ;P

But, like many have pointed out, there's more than one way to skin... er... create a cat. ;)

And the ultimate evil's ultimate plan: to zombify Connor and make him puppet king of Daventry and all other lands!  :suffer:
Kidding, kidding, I have no clue, though I will once I read the script. ;)

I remember back before kq8 I read some theories that thought that Shadrack would be the big bad who was causing so much trouble in the game.
She's back. She's proud. She will overcome!

Yeah, but the way this cat was created should be quite obvious to any half-witted wizard who can find the spellbook and see what spell was used. Not to mention that Manannan himself could say "I thought something about that porridge was a bit fishy... it had too much hair in it"  ;-D

Mordack does seem to be less powerful than Manannan. Manannan doesn't need his wand to zap Gwydion into oblivion, whereas when Mordack lost his wand he was reduced to dueling Graham instead of killing him right away. :-\

Quote from: KatieHal on March 24, 2004, 08:43:46 AMHaha, is anyone even quite sure yet what "The Father"'s agenda really was?? I mean, other than foiling Graham. The bigger picture we don't yet know (hence why AGDI should continue the series remakes, otherwise that's just not fair).

We do know The Father's agenda... to a point. Of coure they wouldn't reveal all of it in one game when they might continue with that plot on another remake  ;)

***KQ2+ SPOILER***

AFAIK, on KQ2+ The Father tries to have Graham killed so he could get the crown of Daventry. Wearing the crown is supposed to reveal to him the whereabouts of some item he needs. There are also some hints on the game regarding The Father's true identity and backstory.

I meant "choking" not joking. lol sorry about the little mistake.

Grahamm basically took Mordacks wand and drained all the power out of it. That's why Mordack had to start relying on transformations than sheer power.

racx_00

I dont believe that we got to see Mordacks true abilities ;)! we saw Manannan using magic all the time, but we didnt see enough of Mordack to view his true abilities :-\!

anyway thats my opinion XD

I was just thinking, how did Manannan get to Mordack's Island? I get the feeling that Mordack didn't visit too often.

DarkTerror

I'm sure Mordack visited every once in a while. Like Mannanan must have some friends, and remember when Mannanan use to go places? I bet he was going to Mordacks to enjoy his place.

When Mordack realized Mannanan (I butcher that name often) wasn't coming anymore. Mordack thought there was hurt feelings, and went to Mannanans place. There he saw the Mannanan as a cat, which spoke to Mordack. Anyways Mordack and Mannanan went back to Mordack's and that was it.

Celli

Okay, and then Mannanan is left in a bag for the rest of his life. ;)

Oldbushie

I didn't recall that the cat Manannan could speak...

He could. In both KQIII and in KQV.

In KQ5 he says something to Graham before running off to alert Mordack... but I don't remember him talking in KQ3 :S Maybe you're thinking of Manannan's regular cat - you can hear him talk if you do the appropriate spell, As far as I can recall 8)
