Considering the content of Lambonius's post, I think it's fairly clear she or he was joking. On top of that Lambonius is not a team member.

Yeah, I was just yanking daventry's chain.  And I'm a he, btw.  Lol.   ;)

We ran out of space on our servers, so we were upgrading. We're getting so big! :D

I blame Deloria's PM count!

Speaking as a contributor to said PM count, I can admit that I myself contributed a rough distillation of a 400 page Latin textbook into IIRC about 150 pages somewhere inside of those PMs...

So, what I'm saying here is: B'rrr's probably right! XD (Though 'tisn't kind to accuse those not present to defend themselves... but then again I should probably be defending her as I'm part of her court... I'll just go sit over there in the corner I've talked myself into...)

Haha, these aren't the last screenshots of Episode 2 we'll be posting--so you may get to see a bit more of Hassan yet! ;)

The Catacombs were on the Isle of the Sacred Mountain, daventry--same as the City of the Winged Ones.

Are these three screencaps the first that's been posted, or did I miss some?

Haids1987

Awesome!  I love how Hole-in-the-Wall looks like he did in the sixth game.  Looking good!

Though the garden is a little frightening.  Kinda Tim Burton-style.

Okay, thanks, Katie!  I was hoping I hadn't missed seeing any.  By these 3 pics, the episode looks awesome!  I can't wait for it to be released

Perhaps it's just me, but I kind of find the screenshot of the Guillotine, with the brightly colored "Place Head Here!" and hole for a severed head to drop in, as well as the "Next Beheading tomorrow!" sign, is rather disturbing.
I don't think a Guillotine is something make light of, and again perhaps it's just me, but tend to associate that weapon of death with the bloody horrors of the French Revolution--Not something light hearted or humorous in any respect.
I mean this was a weapon greatly feared throughout Europe--something of nightmares. Not of happiness.

I think they were going more for an Alice in Wonderland style "Off With Her Head!!" thing.  Which seems a natural fit for the quirky Chess Queens.  :)

That's what I was thinking too. The Isle of Wonder's theme was always that of a 'fairytale'. Not to mention, the play on words: Bookworm, Black Widow, Stick in the mud, and Bump on a log.

Yeah, I thought it looked a bit off as well - sort of sparse or barren.

I thought this, too.  Though it is pretty faithful in representing the original, it seems quite odd that there is no intermediate vegetation at all between the principle elements.  The original KQ6 screen isn't nearly as sparse.  Take a look at the attached screenshot.  Note the vines around the baby cabbage heads, and the actual tomato plants around the posts.  You guys do realize that those are picket posts that are there to support the tomato plants that kind of wrap around them, not actual stumps themselves?  Tomatoes don't grow on wooden logs like that.  Also, where is the foliage in the foreground on the right?  The snapdragons are also quite a bit curvier and leafier in the original as well.  Hopefully this is a work in progress version of the screen and not the final.  The discrepancies are even more noticeable given the higher resolution.

*Not meant to sound harsh, just another artist's honest critique.  :)  Given how carefully you seem to be trying to reproduce the look of the original screen, the lack of these details really stands out.

Additionally, is anyone else a bit horrified by the raisin-esque faces of the iceberg lettuce? *shudders*

Actually, the iceberg lettuce is over in the middle by the tomato plants--those are supposed to be cabbage patch babies or something--I forget what the original game actually calls them.  But yes, they are a little horrifying, though the visual style seems to fit okay with the general oddness of the location.  ;)

The name given in KQ6 was Babies Tears (Alexander had to put some Babies Tears in the old hunter's lamp as one of the ingredients in the Make Rain spell from the spell book -- if you take the long ending where you resurrect Calliphim and Allaria from the Realm of the Dead)

I get the feeling that baby's tears are meant to have grown older...

Lambonius

Ah, Baby's Tears--that's it.  I remember now.  :)

Right. Now I remember how profoundly annoying their persistent crying was in KQVI.
