Yeah, plus the music in that area (I forgot the name, how is that possible) was a bit scary.

I was thinking about that...Seeing as I have nothing better to do, I think I'll give it a shot soon.

Chessboardland! Looks just as whimsical as the rest of the Isle of Wonder :)

Yeah, I thought it looked a bit off as well - sort of sparse or barren.
I thought that too, I wonder if it's supposed to be that way or if that's just the way the 3-D animation turned out?  I was speculating that perhaps there is a problem with the garden in the 2nd chapter, like maybe there was a drought or something? :P

All the stuff is still there, so I doubt it's a drought or something. It's probably just an artifact of the switch to 3D.

But all the stuff isn't there.  You have floating baby's tears with no plants to anchor them to the ground or connect them to each other, and you have tomatoes inexplicably attached to sticks in the ground.  It doesn't make sense and looks quite awkward, particularly if you are familiar with the original background (which most who play this probably will be.)  Not to mention the loss of the foreground bushes on the lower right--foreground elements were always a staple of Sierra backgrounds and one of the things that typically makes a screen feel consistent with "Sierra style."  I agree it's probably a result of the switch to 3D as well as a misinterpretation of the pixelized graphics in the original background (mistaking the picket tomato plant support posts for logs, for example.)  But that said, it's noticeable enough that it warrants a touch up, I would think.

Well, I see what you're saying there. Obviously they could have done a better job, but like most things, I doubt the team has the time to go back and fix it. I mean, the basic garden structure, at least, is intact, so it's not a catastrophic problem.

Well, it's not that big a deal--I admit I have a pretty picky eye when it comes to artwork.  Hazard of the trade, really.  ;)  I'm also used to getting and giving critiques that don't hold anything back.  :)  Depending on the camera moves though, it could just be the matter of tweaking some textures.  Anyway, I said my bit, and now I'll leave it be.  :)

It's a good thing Chessboard Land has a path, otherwise KING Graham would only be able to move one square in any direction at a time.

I was wondering when we'd get one of those - I'm sure people have been wondering how the bookshop has been looking these days.

Looks like Jollo still likes to head out to the bookshop and read books. I wonder what they are discussing?
